Games were competitive all day and several players burst on the scene for the first time. Here’s a look at some interesting prospects at the event.
Asher showed some skill and a good motor on Saturday afternoon and was consistent over the course of the day. Madison Central has almost no bench and Luke should have a chance to get on the court this season, even if it’s just a smaller role.
Highlights
Clark had a good day on Saturday while showing he’s more fundamental than flashy. He looks like he’s going to grow a few more inches and that should help as his game develops. Male appears to have a strong Freshman class and I would expect Jaymes to be a big part of that group.
Anthony already has some varsity experience coming into his freshman season and could be a starter this year. Coppola showed that he knows how to run a team and he can play with pace while avoiding turnovers.
Keene came into the day Saturday with more hype than most who were in attendance but had an up and down day overall. Jackson’s shooting came around over the course of the day but he never stopped playing hard and showed that he’s comfortable facilitating offense for himself or teammates.
Highlights
Braziel is an undersized post player that showed he has a nice set of finishing moves and showed he can use his body to score against bigger defenders. He’ll need to grow or get more skills and move out to the perimeter to be a difference maker on varsity but he should be a very good player on the freshman level this season.
