As a freshman on varsity will earned his minutes off the bench, with his ability to get big stops on defense. He often guarded the teams best scorer, or ball handler. Will is a very good defender on the outside. He has good lateral quickness, and does a good job beating the offensive player to the spot. I would say Wills best attribute is his defense. Any player who can get stops on defense will earn minutes.
Xavier is a fundamentally sounds guard. He has a lot of potential because of his skill set. He can be a facilitator, and also be a scorer. He can play at many different speeds. He can also get stops on defense. I expect him to have a bigger role on the team this coming season.
Marquis is a player with a high ceiling. He has good size for the combo guard position, and is likely still growing. He is a three level scorer. He can shoot the three and attack the hard close out to get to the rim. He has good handles, and also makes players around him better. He knows when to be aggressive, and when to take it himself. He can play at multiple speeds, and can run the offense. He is a versatile player, with a strong built, and athleticism. On defense he is able to defend on the perimeter, and defend players bigger in size. Marquis is still continuing to improve, and he has a lot of potential.
Parris might not wow you with his athleticism, but he certainly wow’s you with his skill set. He has an array of dribble moves, and finishing moves at the rim. He is a very shifty guard. He can be flashy at times, but more importantly he is fundamentally sounds. He controls the pace of the game, and makes the game be played to his style. He is 6-3 and has good size for the Combo Guard position. He shows the ability to shoot from three, find the open teammate, and take the defender off the dribble.
Chris is a guard, who can create his own shot, and create plays for others. He is a playmaker, who shoots a high percentage from three point range. He has a high basketball IQ, and takes a smart shot selection. Chris will turn down a good shot for himself, to get his teammates an even better look. He is still devolving his overall game, but has showed his strong upside.
