Brown was absolutely electric in transition, most notably as a high flying vertical finisher. He did especially well staying aggressive on defense, blitzing the passing lanes as one of his avenues to maximize his positional quickness. Brown possesses unique athleticism at the guard spot, allowing him to be a lob threat on the offensive end and doubling up as a shot blocker on defense.
Mac Terry Mac Terry 6'4" | CG Rock Canyon | 2024 State CO – Rock Canyon – CP Magic – 2024
Terry brings a valuable complementary skillset both on the glass and from the perimeter. At 6’3, he is knockdown off the catch well out past the three point line. He is also more than capable coming off of down screens into the jumper.
Kevin Sylla Kevin Sylla 6'8" | PF Smoky Hill | 2024 State CO – Smoky Hill – Ballers United – 2024
At roughly 6’7, Sylla is a tough matchup down low due to his physicality and ballhandling confidence in traffic. The power forward is a complete bully down in the post, where his plus footwork allows him to quickly turn the corner on spins. Given how easily he gets downhill versus opponents, Sylla has steadily improved a passer off of double teams. He is most dependable finishing with the left hand through contact, although he is nothing short of serviceable going right either.
Steffen Schattinger – Dakota Ridge – Hoops Academy – 2023
Schattinger was on a heater all weekend, averaging over 15 points per game and even scoring 7 of his 9 three point attempts in one matchup. Standing roughly 6′ tall, the wiry combo guard is capable creating offense under a variety of situations, given his shooting gravity and budding playmaking vision. He proved to be a pull-up threat out to NBA range on multiple occassions per game, a testament to his confidence. Schattinger has also shown the ability to change speeds in the halfcourt, doing well getting defenders on his hips and creating passing lanes. Although still somewhat lanky, Schattinger boasts wiry strength one on one, averaging two steals per game through the weekend.
Kaylan Graham Kaylan Graham 6'4" | SG Smoky Hill | 2025 State CO – Smoky Hill – Ballers United – 2025
Graham should be set for a big year, currently standing as the 13th ranked prospect in the 2025 class. At roughly 6’2, the combo guard possesses a strong, lengthy frame allowing him to disrupt defenses by getting downhill quickly. Already stronger than most 2025s, Graham is more than capable creating contact and finishing through physicality. Passing vision is another area Graham is gaining comfortability, where he was especially confident hitting corner shooters out of drive and kick situations.
Ethan Berninger Ethan Berninger 6'5" | SG Dakota Ridge | 2025 State CO – Dakota Ridge – Colorado Premier – 2025
Berninger will be another 2025 name to know, at 6’3 the shooting guard has made steady gains as an athlete while further refining the shooting stroke off the bounce. One of JeffCo’s under the radar incoming sophomores, Berninger has steadily improved his athleticism both laterally and vertically. Serving as a highly efficient complementary perimeter shooter, I look forward to see how Berninger progresses as a playmaker with the ball.
