Gerald Triplett II
The small town standout from Eastern Oklahoma was one of the more productive performers at the camp. While under 6 foot, the Roland Ranger was a very strong finisher at the rim. Even though it was athleticism and finishing that first made Triplett II standout, he made numerous good passes and did a great job of mixing unselfish play with scoring for a camp setting.
The Norman Tiger first caught eyes for his floppy mane of red head as he was seemingly all over the court. He’s an energetic guard, that has good activity on defense but really made his mark with was his willingness to get downhill. When attacking he has also showed off a good floater, which is a key component in a scoring arsenal for any smaller guard.
Another small town player that made a big impact, the Okrache standout was a productive scorer on the day. He first stood out with shooting benefiting many past past small town standouts. But Muggenbrog was not content with just floating along the perimeter. He has a willingness to mix it up on the glass and especially at the rim. Where he had one late in the day finish that stood out in particular for how he took the contact and still converted the “And 1”.
Another player that did his scoring in a mixture, Leche is very comfortable shooting off the dribble. But there’s more to his game than just being a sniper. What stood out about his game was a combination of quickness and compact body control. He used those traits to create space for jumpers or to get by defenders on drives. Longterm he’ll need to continue to work on balancing creating for others while scoring, but Leche seems to have the offensive repertoire to start making an impact this winter for Casady.
Jarmile Robinson
Perhaps the more prolific player at getting to the rim at the camp was Robinson. His impressive athleticism and burst with the ball allowed him to constantly attacking openings and then finish well at the rim. Thanks to his athletic ability and confident demeanor, he plays much bigger than his shorter height. While he’s an impressive athlete and producer now, he’ll likely need to add more variety to his game at the high school level, due to the size and athleticism of older players.
