Louisiana usually has a number of players who can play multiple positions and that is definitely apparent in the group playing this year. In this final preview of the State Session, we will highlight the wings and combo guards who will take the floor in Youngsville this weekend.
Team Anglin (Coach Anglin will have some of the most diverse wings and combo guards on his team. His group of interchangeable parts will give other teams fits on Saturday.)
Jordan Comanche Jordan Comanche 6'6" | CG Wossman | 2024 State LA (6’5″ / Wossman) – versatile guard who may be better at the point than the two or the three; he rebounds well for a guard and if he is on from deep, he is an extremely tough cover
Chad Jones Chad Jones 6'7" | PF St. Thomas More | 2024 State LA (6’7″ / St.Thomas More) – forward who can play with his back to the basket or out on the perimeter; long and rangy defender who can switch onto anyone and protect the rim as well
De’Vion Lavergne De’Vion Lavergne 6'3" | CG North Central | 2023 State LA (6’4″ / North Central) – top ten player who gives maximum effort on both ends of the floor but makes it look effortless; seems to love defense more than offense; loves to just play
Shavurdacour Nicholas Shavurdacour Nicholas 6'5" | SF L.B. Landry | 2023 State LA (6’5″ / LB Landry) – high flying forward who likes to punish the rim in the open floor; long and athletic wing who can rebound in traffic; has a big upside because of versatility
Reece Seicshnaydre Reece Seicshnaydre 6'3" | CG St. Paul's | 2023 State LA (6’3″ / St. Paul’s) – athletic combo guard who is very efficient from the mid-range as well as the three; very good passer; absorbs contact well when attacking the paint
Team Blankenship (Coach Blankenship likes guards who can put the ball in the basket and big men who can defend the paint and get out and run. Ironically, he has all of that on his team.)
Jayce Depron Jayce Depron 7'5" | CG Madison Prep | 2024 State LA (6’3″ / Madison Prep) – best two way guard in the 2024 class; he can score from all three levels and defend all three positions on the perimeter; huge upside this prospect has
Kohen Rowbatham Kohen Rowbatham 6'1" | CG St. Thomas Aquinas | 2024 State LA (6’1″ / Northshore) – is making a strong case to be the best guard regardless of class; loves to get downhill to the rim; crafty finisher who can score from any level; high IQ also
Jordan Trahan Jordan Trahan 6'4" | SG Country Day | 2023 State LA (6’4″ / Country Day) – athletic guard who can put up numbers quickly using various methods; very good at attacking the rim and finishing in transition
Bryson Williams Bryson Williams 5'10" | CG Southwood | 2025 State LA (6’5″ / Southside) – forward who can score almost at will in the paint; has great footwork and uses it to create space when shooting short and mid-range jumpers; rim protector on D
Team Cordaro (Coach Cordaro has an assortment of size and shooting that may be unmatched. This team fits the basketball philosophy of today where everyone is a threat from behind the arc.)
Jamaria Clark Jamaria Clark 6'2" | CG Doyline | 2023 State LA (6’2″ / Doyline) – high level shooter who can play lead guard or off the ball; very quick release and has a lightning quick first step to the rim; range to 29 feet easily
Allen Graves Allen Graves 6'9" | PF Ponchatoula | 2024 State LA (6’8″ / Ponchatoula) – hardworking forward with a feathery touch from the three point line; he is a high level rebounder also who has the ability to bang with other bigs;; can drive as well
Braylan McNeal Braylan McNeal 6'6" | SF Ruston | 2023 State LA (6’5″ / Ruston) – long and agile forward who has a varied offensive arsenal; will switch and use his length to guard smaller players; can defend big men one-on-one in most cases
Jordan Moore Jordan Moore 6'4" | CG Hahnville | 2024 State LA (6’2″ / Shaun Dumas Admy) – explosive two guard who can elevate quickly and finish with authority; he can lead the break in transition and is a very good finisher on the break
Tyler Ringgold (6’7″ / Southern Lab) – multi-talented wing who can score at three levels; can guard multiple positions on a high school floor and rebounds well; relentlessly attacks the rim
Kameron Williams Kameron Williams 6'7" | SF Lafayette Christian | 2024 State #60 Nation LA (6’7″ / Lafayette Christian) – forward who can perform every offensive task at a high level; three level scorer who can pass and shoot like a small guard; high IQ player
Team Dorsey (Coach Dorsey has a group that excels in transition. They all can lock in on the defensive end which spells trouble for the opposition.)
Jaylon Hicks Jaylon Hicks 6'5" | SF Carver | 2023 State LA (6’5″ / Newman) – big guard who knows how to attack a defense in multiple ways; scores on all levels but loves attacking the rim from the baseline
Keith Jones Keith Jones 6'4" | SG Edna Karr | 2024 State LA (6’4″ / Edna Karr) – explosive guard who is very good at creating turnovers and turning them into offense; he is a good shooter but better when he can get downhill to the rim
Kevin Jones Kevin Jones 6'4" | SF Peabody | 2023 State LA (6’5″ / Peabody) – athletic wing that is very good at attacking the rim; he excels at running the wings in transition and plays hard on the defensive end
Elliot McQuillan Elliot McQuillan 6'2" | SG Port Allen | 2023 State LA (6’2″ / Port Allen) – one of the best shooters in the state; also a very good man-to-man defender who can create turnovers with his defensive play
JaQuise Richmond JaQuise Richmond 6'6" | SF Barbe | 2023 State LA (6’6″ / Barbe) – super athletic forward who can defend multiple positions; has serious bounce and tries to finish everything with a dunk; excellent in transition
Team Sanders (Coach Sanders might have the Statement Session’s best team. They have height, shooting, scorers, and defenders everywhere.)
Turner Duncan Turner Duncan 6'3" | PG St. Augustine | 2024 State LA (6’3″ / St. Augustine) – a guard who never seems to be rattled by the opposition; besides having a fluid outside shot; he has a strong upper body that allows him to absorb contact
Jakobe Dykes Jakobe Dykes 6'5" | SF Shaun Dumas Academy | 2023 State LA (6’5″ / Shaun Dumas Admy) – wing who can do it all; loves shooting the three but is very comfortable with driving to the rim….especially baseline
Brandon Hardy Brandon Hardy 6'4" | SG Zachary | 2023 State #234 Nation LA (6’4″ / Zachary) – one of the most athletic finishers Louisiana has; plays both ends of the floor and can take over a game in an instant
Courtney McCarthy Courtney McCarthy 6'5" | SG Richwood | 2023 State LA (6’5″ / Richwood) – can play everything from point to small ball four; scores the ball from all three levels; wing who plays well in the post

John Kelly John Kelly 6'7" | SF John Ehret | 2023 State #237 Nation LA (6’7″ / John Ehret) – can score the ball inside and out; perfect example of a stretch four; one of the best scorers in Louisiana
Jaylen Pazon (6’5″ / Mandeville) – capable of playing everything from the point to the wing; improved shooter who can get to the rim; cannot stop him from going left
Wayne Randall-Bashay Wayne Randall-Bashay 6'4" | SF New Iberia | 2024 State LA (6’4″ / New Iberia) – versatile forward who can defend all five positions; has a multi-facted skill set that allows him to be whatever the team needs at any given time
Decedric Webb Decedric Webb 6'5" | SF Huntington | 2023 State LA (6’6″ / Huntington) – best finisher in the 2023 class; athletic forward who has unlimited potential; can switch and defend all five positions on the floor
