James is a throwback type of player that plays with a high motor and with some defensive tenacity. This allows him to defend different positions out in the perimeter as well as bigger bodies down in the paint. With that strong frame he can take smaller guards into the post and do work down there and in the perimeter he can get by the first defender with quick moves. James at the high school level can really be a stat stuffer with the way he rebounds on both ends of the ball and the way he can get his hands on the ball playing the lanes. James should have a standout senior season.
#12 PHU 6’8 Isaac Garrett Isaac Garrett 6'8" | SF Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT || Pleasant Grove High School || 2023 ||
One of the better sleepers in the class with size and playmaking ability that can translate to the next level. Issac has really turned into a stretch 4 that can play out in the perimeter beating players off the dribble, especially those bigger players. Really like how his game can mature at the next level and with him really focusing on his body and his role he could be a great find for a team at the next level. Could really be playing for a LM D1 position this coming high school year.
#13 PHU 6’3 Mason Bendinger Mason Bendinger 6'3" | CG Woods Cross | 2023 State UT || Woods Cross High School || 2023 ||
Mason is a big body tough and strong guard that really works that mid-range at all angles and he dominates at the high school level at those spots. He defends well and he continues to improve as he has so much more to grow and develop his game. If he shoots the ball from deep better he will have himself a superiro senior season that will have a lot of college coaches calling. Made a big time run in state last season and he looks to add to that.
#14 PHU 6’4 Ashton Wallace Ashton Wallace 6'4" | CG American Fork | 2023 State UT || American Fork High School || 2023 ||
Ashton is another late blooming guard that when consistent he is a lights out shooter and play maker. He will be ready by state as his high school team has really bought into playing the best teams regardless that helpos players like Ashton get looks and play against the best that has helped his development during the high school season. Will be a big piece in the title defense in 6A this up-coming year.
#15 PHU 6’6 Justus Jackson-Fobbs Justus Jackson-Fobbs 6'6" | SF Cyprus | 2023 State UT || Cyprus High School || 2023 ||
This kid will be another sleeper that finds a home possible at the D1 level at a LM school because he has some talent that is just not teachable. He has athleticism and a motor. He is a willing passer and screener. He works hard in the post and on the perimeter. Shoots the ball well enough to be a threat out beyond the arc. Justus is currently injured which could actually make him a steal for the right school willing to track him.
