Regardless of where they stand in the rankings, this is a talented, hard-working group who are fun to watch and brings it night in, and night out. These are the top five forwards from the Seattle/Tacoma area in the class of 2024.
No. 1 | Goodman was an easy choice for the top spot. He’s not just the best forward prospect in the area, but one of the best overall prospects in the state. Goodman is accelerating his game forward at an incredible pace, showing a strong desire to be the best he can. The next step for the talented big man is to dominate a game from start to finish. There are certainly going to be mismatches during the high school season where Goodman will have the opportunity to back up the hype and it will be yet another step forward for him. This should be a big year for one of the top forwards in the 2024 class.
Highlights
No. 2 | Simmons is another long kid who probably isn’t done growing. He’s actually similar to Miles Goodman Miles Goodman 6’10” | PF Southern California Academy | 2024 CA-S in a lot of ways; he likes to run the floor, block shots, and go to work on the boards. The biggest difference, besides giving a few inches, is Simmons’ jumper. He’s shown an advanced face-up game with the ability to hit the mid-range shot and is working on extending that to three-point. If he can tighten up the handle and get the jumper to fall from further out, he’ll have the potential to be a high-efficiency scorer next season.
Highlights
No. 3 | Schiavo doesn’t provide the same offensive profile as some of the other forwards on this list, but he is one of the most active and relentless forwards in the Seattle/Tacoma area. I have seen many games this summer where Schiavo took over just by outworking everyone else on the floor. He’s got a nose for the ball and is an exceptional rebounder and defender. On offense, he’s going to look to get to the hole but does have a capable outside shot. Schiavo is a gritty player who will win those 50/50 balls that could swing a game.
No. 4 | Clark is built very similarly to his brother, Miles Clark Miles Clark 6’7″ | SF O’Dea | 2023 State WA , and though he might be even a little longer than his older brother, Malcolm still does his best work off the dribble. His sheer size suggests he should work inside but he’s much better beating slower bigs off the bounce with his quickness and long steps. Clark has sky-high potential that should start to take shape this coming year.
Dylan Wiggins
Dylan Wiggins
No. 5 | Wiggins is a name I heard of last high school season. I saw a bit of him in the spring, then a bunch more in the summer. That’s kind of how his game has progressed too. He ended the summer rolling, with his confidence growing and game expanding. He’s a big kid who fights inside on both ends of the court. What’s intriguing about Wiggins is where his offensive profile will land. He’s shown a little bit of skill handling the rock and an ability to hit some mid-range shots. If he can refine that side of his game, add some footwork to his hustle inside, he could break out for a Bellarmine team that lost a lot of production from last year’s squad.
