This event is being hosted at the World Famous University of New Mexico Basketball Arena, “The Pit”. This article will be part two of players to keep an eye on.
Latavious Morris Latavious Morris 5'8" | PG Atrisco Heritage | 2025 State NM : 5’7 Point Guard “Atrisco Heritage” Class of 2025
Latavious Morris Latavious Morris 5'8" | PG Atrisco Heritage | 2025 State NM from Atrisco Heritage and ABC Spotlight will be one of the top players in this weeks Back To School Tournament. Since his freshman year from this past season, he has taken the state by storm. Latavious plays with a huge spark that is contagious to his teammates on the floor. He is a quick guard that plays above the air around the rim who is extremely athletic around the basket. He has turned into a consistent mid-range and long-range shooter who can space the floor with his shooting. He will be one of the most exciting players to watch this weekend.
Jalin Holland Jalin Holland 6'5" | SG Los Lunas | 2025 State #85 Nation NM : 6’4 Shooting Guard “Los Lunas” Class of 2025
Jalin Holland Jalin Holland 6'5" | SG Los Lunas | 2025 State #85 Nation NM is arguably the best player in New Mexico heading into the upcoming season this fall. There is nothing that Jalin can’t do at a high level on the floor. Jalin’s scoring stands out the most and at his size, he is unguardable when he gets going offensively. Jalin is one of the best pure scorers in the state and is dangerous in transition for pull up three-pointers. Jalin can play off the ball and is lethal in “Catch and Shoot” situations. He is more than just a shooter, he can create his own shot and drive to the basket where he is exceptional at finishing around the rim. Jalin is strong enough to avoid the physical contact inside. This summer he has wasted little time in adding to his game, he has received several D1 offers to compete at the next level and will prove that in this weeks Back to School Tournament.
Kenyon Aguino Kenyon Aguino 6'7" | PF Volcano Vista | 2025 State #257 Nation NM : 6’6 Power Forward “Volcano Vista” Class of 2025
I am excited to see Volcano Vista’s Kenyon Aguino Kenyon Aguino 6'7" | PF Volcano Vista | 2025 State #257 Nation NM this week at the Albuquerque Basketball Club Back To School Tournament. He has already become arguably the top post player in the state in his short high school career. This off-season, Kenyon has reached another level in his game with his aggressiveness and confidence. He has some of the best foot-work in the game around the basket and has a nice touch around the rim. His mid-range game from 12-18 feet makes him a matchup nightmare for any matchup in the state. Despite only going into his sophomore year, he is a strong player who holds his own inside the paint. Kenyon has turned into a great rebounder on both sides of the ball and a reliable interior defender inside the paint.
Remy Albrecht: Point Guard “Cleveland” Class of 2026
Remy Albrecht from Cleveland High School made his presence known last season as an 8th grader on the varsity roster and this off-season, he’s continued to make an strong impact on the floor. Remy has looked impressive in Team Camps for Cleveland High School and in AAU for ABC Spotlight. He looks stronger and faster since the end of last season. Remy is an athletic scoring point guard that plays bigger than what he is. Remy will be a fun player to cover this weekend.
