Already athletically gifted and maturing. Had a really solid spring and summer session being a long and athletic guard and making plays as a primary ball handler and off ball player utilizing is slashing and offensive rebounding ability. Has really long arms and good instincts which made him a reliable defender and someone who could force turnovers and get out on the break.
Highlights
Gavin Popik
Gavin Popik
Nice off ball guard and does a great job of moving without the basketball. Nice reader of screens, comes off ready to catch and make a play, and is efficient with his opportunities. Does a nice job attacking in transition both as a break leader with the ball or as a wing runner. Knocks down open looks as well as he stays shot ready.
Jakhai Carter
Jakhai Carter
A super dynamic guard as a play maker both for himself and for others. Really great court vision coming off of ball screens or pushing in transition and can pass with either hand effectively. Finds shooters when he gets down hill or rollers and rim runners. Good footwork and change of pace playing out of triple threat ad ca also rise up and knock down tough shots. Should make an imMedia te impact at West this year.

Plays with a ton of energy and willing to make plays that influence winning that may not show up on the stat sheet. Showed that he focused on improving his offensive game and became a highly efficient catch and shoot player in July and if that continues to carry over with the other competitive aspects of his game, should make him a big time addition at Hays this year. Tough nosed on ball defender and will also step in and take a charge off the ball.

Will be an impact guard at Colby from the jump, and showed he has a physically mature game playing up a grade this spring and summer. Really solid fundamentals with his shot preparation and approach. Strong and balanced on his drives to the rim, plays off two feet, and has soft touch in the lane. Can get clean three point makes off both off the catch and coming off of screens. Heady defender as well.

Aquinas will have a plethora of young talent at their disposal this season, but it will be important to not forget or overlook Gavin. A really long wing/guard hybrid prospect with a ton of scoring upside to his game. Big time slasher with the ball, crafty finisher, good bounce off the floor, and explosive first step. As his aggressiveness grows he could be a lethal wing player for the Saints moving forward.
