#20 Ethan Wyatt 2023 6’3 Klein Collins High School, TX (Welcome to 4 Vegas Hot Shots 2023)
Ethan is an athletic monster, not surprising to anyone a dual sport athlete who is already boasting division one offers in football. Wyatt has explosiveness that is off the charts with the ability to hammer home monstrous dunks on the fast break, as well as rising up and finishing over the top of anyone. He has some incredibly impressive tomahawk dunks in his arsenal, many of which sucked the air out of the gym when he finished it. He has the ability to play on both ends of the court, using his active hands to poke the ball free and his basketball IQ to play in the passing lanes. He is not just a slasher however, he calmly knocks down shots off the bounce from 3 point range, and is more than comfortable at taking the pull up 15 footer. I was very impressed with the ease in which the game seemed to come to him, paired with his explosiveness and athleticism, some coach is going to be very lucky to have this young man at the next level, no matter which sport he picks!
#19 Kai’ree Murray 2023 6’2 Fort Bend Bush High School
Kai’ree is a high level guard who has a real nose for the ball on both ends of the floor. He might be one of the best rebounding guards I have seen in a few years. He is relentless at attacking the glass and put back one of the most impressive put back’s I have seen over two defenders! He played hard for every second that he was in and was fearless to get on the floor and on the glass. I was very impressed with his ability to pass the ball, he consistently made great reads on the fast break to get his teammates open looks. He showed an ability to knock down shots in the corners as well.
#18 Joseph Tugler 2023 6’8 Cypress Falls High School
Joseph is an aware big who does not only have the ability to punish you with his back to the basket, but with his ability to pick apart the defenses with his passes. The ball never sticks to him, and he passes out of double teams with ease. He garners a lot of offensive attention with his size, especially against smaller teams. He is a capable scorer in the paint, and knows how to seal off his opponent under the rim. He is a capable shooter for his size, and loves acting as the trailer man on the fast break. On defense, he is great at sliding over to protect the rim. His defenders are allowed to be more aggressive on the perimeter, knowing they are funneling their opponent into such a strong defender in the paint.
#17 Kenneth Lewis Kenneth Lewis 6'7" | SF Houston Booker T. Washington | 2023 State #294 Nation TX 2023 6’7 Booker T Washington High School
Kenneth is a supremely athletic wing who hammered home some jaw dropping dunks this weekend. He is great at using his lanky body to go up strong and finish over and through anyone who stands in his way. He is good at using his size to finish strong and above his opponents, using a high release point on his jumper and his runner in traffic as well. Lewis finished lobs on the fast break with ease, and is a real weapon to score in the open court with his tremendous foot speed.
He is not just a slasher, he showed an ability to handle the ball and calmly score off the bounce from the mid-range and beyond the arc. He is comfortable around the wings and from the top of the key, and is a real weapon as a trailer option. He calmly shot over anyone he wanted to from the perimeter and even worked with his back to the basket to manipulate his opponent into a bad position.
#16 Orlando Horton Orlando Horton PG Clear Falls | 2023 TX Jr 2023 5’10 Houston Christian High School
Orlando is a crafty point guard who thrives off of creating space with his handle and sudden changes of speeds. He has impeccable footwork, with the ball he is great at using high level crossovers and step backs to shift his opponents every time he stepped on the court. There were multiple instances in which he put high level recruits on absolute skates in a half court set. I loved watching him use his agility to get around his opponents with ease. He is a a skilled finisher for his size, and he is great at using high shot angles and soft touches to finish over any opponent. He is a threat to score across all three levels, and the ease in which he gets into the paint allows him to threaten to drop an opponent on any inch of the court.
In the open court, he was incredible at changing speed and making the right pass at the right time to set up his teammates for effortless finishes. His ability to manipulate the defense was impeccable, and the ease in which he gets around the first defender allows him to read the defense with some real space. He whipped high level cross court passes to set up his teammates, and also through pin point lob passes to set up thunderous dunks. Horton Jr is the ideal point guard, and his shiftiness is definitely ready for the next level. I am intrigued to see how his offers begin to stack up this season…
