You also have Elijah Duval Elijah Duval 6'2" | SG Martin County | 2024 #118 Nation FL (No.9) right outside in Martin County. Point being, these prospects are facing some of the best competition in and around South Florida.
Which player(s) present the most difficult challenge?
Christian Reid Christian Reid 6'5" | SF Mater Lakes | 2024 State FL ‘s size and athleticism is impressive. The 6-foot-5 guard/forward scores off the dribble and rebounds like a frontcourt big. Reid had 27 points and 12 rebounds in a recent outing with SOH Elite. He can power his way into the lane or breeze in transition to the bucket. I would not give this kid open space with a look at the rim. Reid will easily get up and throw it down for a dunk. Overall, he has all the tools of a double-double 2-3. I think he’s too quick for smaller defenders and too physical for players around his frame. Reid is already a tough matchup and only a junior.
Marcus Allen Marcus Allen 6'6" | SF Norland (FL) | 2024 State #56 Nation FL can score and defend from 1-4. He has solid handles for a 6-foot-7 player and all the length in the world to get to the rim. Add-in his natural athletic ability and he has little issue getting to the bucket. Allen shot 57 percent from the floor, including 35 percent from deep as a sophomore. I think any added weight will only help him around the basket, and that will naturally happen. Anyway you cut it, there is little stopping him.
Casey Etienne Casey Etienne 6'1" | PG Cardinal Gibbons | 2024 FL Jr. is a prospect that flashes a ton of skill. The 6-foot-3 guard has plenty of quickness to take his defender off the dribble or dish in motion. Essentially, Etienne presents a ton of looks off his athleticism. He also brings it on defense where he averaged three steals per game as a sophomore for Cardinal Gibbons. Also a football player, his coordination is likely an asset on the court.
Ian Smikle Ian Smikle 6'9" | C Suncoast | 2024 State FL is a prospect I will keep plugging. At 6-foot-9, Smikle can naturally grab rebounds and block or alter shots. Moreover, his big frame can contain the brunt of opposing bigs. Smikle’s footwork and overall shot also continues to develop. If he continues to play relentless and tough, I see few kids being able to slow him down for 32 minutes. I would say the same to Stone Bureau Stone Bureau 6'0" | PG Calvary Christian Academy, Ft. Lauderdale | 2024 State FL at his position. Bureau can fly and criss-cross his defender off the dribble. He also is one of the best defensive point guards in South Florida.
