Continue ReadingThe Mid Ohio Pumas hosted an elite prospect camp with prospects within the Pumas program and some local prospects outside of the program as well. I already broke down the standouts from the 1V1 and 3V3 drills, this article will focus on the other top performers from the event.
Kyler D’Augustino Kyler D’Augustino 6'1" | CG Albany Alexander | 2023 State OH , 6’1 CG Alexander 2023: D’Augustino is one of the top prospects in the entire Pumas program and showed out again at this event. D’Augustino scores the ball at a high level, using his shot-making off the bounce and strength to finish through contact at the rim. D’Augustino already holds offers from Division II powerhouses Grand Valley State, Cedarville and more. Expect D’Augustino’s recruitment to continue to rise in July.
Trenton Collins Trenton Collins 6'4" | SF Utica | 2023 State OH , 6’4 SF Utica 2023: Collins is another small town sleeper who’s had a really solid spring on the Prep Hoops Circuit with Mid Ohio Pumas -Sleimers. Collins is a strong wing who has some explosiveness when attacking the basket. Collins also has the frame to be an impact defender at the next level and can make open shots from the outside. I expect small colleges to make Collins a priority to watch in July.
Jadi Cunningham Jr Jadi Cunningham Jr 6'1" | PG Westerville South | 2023 State OH , 6’0 PG Westerville South 2023: Cunningham was one of the top defensive players at the event, and earns a spot on this list just for his effort on that end. Cunningham sat down defensively and gave ball-handlers fits with his activity and pressure. Cunningham was a starter on a Westerville South squad that went unbeaten last season and will be a key returning piece in 2022-23.
Caleb Miller, 6’1 SG Link Academy (MO) 2023: Miller is a Columbus native who transferred to Link Academy for his Junior season and showed out at this event. Miller is a good shooter with great off-ball movement to get him open often to launch from distance. Miller plays well off another point guard to run the offense and can get hot in a hurry from deep. Miller plays on Nova’s UA Rise squad with tons of central Ohio area prospects.
Jack Ullom Jack Ullom 6'5" | SF Mason | 2023 State OH , 6’4 SF Mason 2023: Ullom is an athletic slashing forward who had a lot of success around the basket all afternoon. Ullom is a straight line attacker, who if you don’t force him to make a counter move, who is tough to stop with a head of steam. Ullom has posted some impressive dunks from his games this spring and summer and seems to be raising his stock each time he steps on the court. Ullom is another prospect who has stood out in Prep Hoops Circuit events this spring, notably the Grit Memorial Classic in Columbus.
James Maholm James Maholm 6'0" | PG Dublin Scioto | 2023 State OH , 6’0 PG Dublin Scioto 2023: While I knew most of the players, there were a couple prospects I didn’t previously have any info about and Maholm stood out the most among these players. After leading his team in scoring in the competitive OCC, Maholm has some scoring tools that will translate to the next level. With his shooting and quickness, he will be able to create for himself. Maholm also plays with a good motor, getting loose balls and occasional offensive rebounds.
