Continue ReadingFears has been playing up a the 17u level during the summer AAU period. He put on a stellar performance at the Grit Region Finals, and earned 1st team recognition at the event. His ball-handling abilities are top-notch. When it comes to scoring, he gets the job done all over the floor. Fears is in contention to be the #1 2025 player in Illinois, and has multiple high-major offers already.
Caleb Lindsey

He’s definitely a prospect to look out for in the future. What stands out most about his game is his ability to make an impact on both ends. Lindsey is a lengthy, athletic forward capable of shooting, defending, rebounding, and attacking the basket. He earned 15u third team recognition last weekend in Indy.
Keegan VanKauwenberg

I had a chance to watch the Crusaders a lot in the spring. VanKauwenberg is a player I really like from this team who can play guard or forward. I’ve seen him take over games on multiple occasions. He’s a pure 3-level scorer who doesn’t seem to lose confidence after a miss. On defense, his long arms can create problems for opponents trying to score over him.
Breland might have had a breakout weekend for GFC at the Grit Region Finals. I’ve yet to see a shooter as confident as he was. He’s not afraid to let it fly from anywhere on the floor. Breland’s also an excellent facilitator, looking to get teammates involved and playing quick in transition. But One last thing to note out is that he has a clutch gene. He came up big in their opening game last weekend with a go-ahead three and an assist to break off a double team to seal the game against Sky’s the Limit.
The explosiveness and athleticism on display from Smith is something to watch. He’s got a quick burst to the hoop and can stay hot once he gets going. Like Breland, Smith seems to have a clutch gene in him. Knocking down a huge 3-pointer last weekend to send their game against Danville-area’s No Limit to OT, where they’d go on to win.
