After a month of team camps across the state, it was nice to get things back up and running with the Prep Hoops Circuit. Things began on Saturday in Oklahoma City and Edmond with the “The Finale”. I was stationed at the Santa Fe Center throughout the weekend for 15U action on Saturday and a mix of 15U and 16U hoops on Sunday. In this post, we take a look at three players in the 2026 class that played up in the 15U division and performed very well.
Bradley Island – 2026 Guard – Oklahoma Runners
This Oklahoma Runners team was full of 2026 prospects and it was tough to narrow it down to just one. They had a decent weekend but when we got a chance to watch one of their games over the weekend, we came away impressed with guard Bradley Island. The Runners guard was incredibly active on both sides of the ball and that can also be said about the entire team. Island was pretty balanced in his scoring throughout the weekend as well. This squad was the 14U team within the Runners program and they did a good job moving up and competing. Island will be a small school guard to look out for over the next few years.
Davon Chaffin – 2026 Guard – Buddy Buckets OKC
We wrote about 2026 guard Davon Chaffin after watching him in person on Saturday with Buddy Buckets OKC. Despite coming up short in their game Saturday afternoon, Chaffin performed incredibly well. That would end up being the theme throughout the weekend. The team would struggle at times but Chaffin was one of the top performers throughout the weekend. We also mentioned in our Saturday wrap up that Chaffin is going to be able add immediate depth and reliability to a Southeast backcourt that is already loaded. Chaffin has had a very busy summer already and in our opinion, his stock is going up at this point.
Mehki Thomas – 2026 Guard – Oklahoma Flight
The younger brother of former Putnam City North star point guard Micah Thomas, Mehki Thomas is now on the scene and looking to make a name for himself. During one of the games on Sunday, we got a chance to watch Thomas in person from start to finish as his Oklahoma Flight squad took on another unbeaten team in Next Level Oklahoma. From the opening tip, both teams went back and forth and it very quickly turned into a shootout. That allowed Thomas to be in his element as he did a great job playmaking but also getting his shots and driving to the basket at will. I was very impressed with Thomas and he clearly has the DNA to be a top guard in Oklahoma moving forward.
