Reason for the Ranking (Top 95)
Late June we introduced our updated Class of 2023 rankings!! Rankings are subjective and PrepHoops.com ranks purely upon potential and where the player will be at their basketball peak. Production factors in only when helping prove the potential is greater or lesser. Why did we rank these guys? Why are they at this spot? Take a look at five Class of 2023 prospects and learn a little about their reputation.

Top 95
#91 Jason Burch Jason Burch 6'5" | C Green Hill | 2023 State TN (Green Hill)
Burch is evolving as a modern big. He used to be what you would expect a 6-foot-10 player to be, a wonderful defender around the rim and elite rebounder at the high school level. He has added more though. “He had a great June,” said Green Hill Head Coach Troy Allen. “He is shooting 3’s now. He probably shot 50% from 3. He didn’t shoot a lot, but he made them. We have him out on the floor a little bit. He was putting it on the floor a little bit, one or two dribbles. He was really active blocking shots, probably getting 10+ rebounds per game.
#92 Riley Everett Riley Everett 6'4" | SF William Blount | 2023 State TN (William Blount)
Riley earned a Tusculum offer as June 2022 ended, and it was long overdue considering his work in the weight room, class room, and in the gym. Everett easily earned 2021 PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine All-Star with physical, purposeful wing play and continued to thrive throughout the winter and now with Pro One TN 17u. Everett’s strength is a strength, and he easily bodies up and nudges tall, thin guards. The ability to attack from the wing and shoot from 8-14′ out makes him an intriguing prospect at the DII level.
#93 Marshall Ashley Marshall Ashley 6'1" | PG Oakland | 2023 State TN (Oakland)
Ashley competed at the PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine, displaying a fearsome combination of physicality and creativity. Ashley will have a big senior season for Oakland thanks to his ability to get into the lane and also batter defenders around instead of willowing at the bumps of the game.
#94 Isaiah Divens Isaiah Divens 6'1" | PG Blackman | 2023 State TN (Blackman)
Isaiah Divens Isaiah Divens 6'1" | PG Blackman | 2023 State TN played with a lot of confidence, earned confidence during his junior season. Divens gets off the floor very well, helping him release the mid-range shot at a reasonable height. Divens is explosive in the open floor, and will occasionally finish with a gorgeous dunk.

#95 Hank Brown Hank Brown 6'4" | SG Lipscomb Academy | 2023 State TN (Lipscomb Academy)
Hank Brown Hank Brown 6'4" | SG Lipscomb Academy | 2023 State TN caught my eye during the state tournament in Cookeville, Tennessee. Read the evaluation from the March day.
Brown came out like a ball of fire. The junior drew the first foul of the game and though he missed both free throws (nerves?) he did continue his physical play for the entire stint on the floor. Brown opened the game on Chandler Jackson, a mighty task for any player. The matchup seemed bizarre since Chandler is a lead guard, but strong. Brown is a high school power forward, essentially. That he was considered d a viable defender for CJ shows tremendous confidence in his leg power and quickness. He fouled out with 7 rebounds. “He is tough as nails,” said Coach Kevin Starks. “These guys believe in him. He is the one guy that you ask him to do anything. [His teammates] all believe in him.”
