#96 Jack Smith Jack Smith 6'5" | SG Hardin Valley | 2023 State TN (Hardin Valley)
Elite passer at 6-foot-5. Foot speed is just ok. During the PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine of 2022, Jack was one of the most pleasant surprises. Rarely does a player of his caliber escape our watchful eye well into his “senior summer”, but Jack did. PrepHoopsTN Combine All-Star. Reminds of tall point guard Matt Bouldin (Gonzaga 2006-2010) for his court vision, modest speed, and plus dribbling.
Returning to Gonzaga, Bouldin led the Zags to three straight West Coast Conference titles, making first team All-Conference each time. Bouldin increased his scoring and rebounding averages in each of his four years and led Gonzaga to a Sweet 16 berth in the 2009 NCAA tournament. Entering his senior year, Bouldin was named to the watch list for several major awards, including the John R. Wooden Award, the Naismith College Player of the Year, the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award and the Bob Cousy Award. After a strong individual season and in leading Gonzaga to a fourth straight WCC title, Bouldin was named the West Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Year. -Wikipedia
#97 Andre Watson Andre Watson 5'9" | PG Southwind | 2023 State TN (Arlington)
A star hooper for Arlington, Watson was special and impactful his freshman year at AHS.
#98 Andrew Knittel Andrew Knittel 6'3" | SG Volunteer | 2023 State TN (Volunteer) .
Gritty but skilled. Andrew Knittel Andrew Knittel 6'3" | SG Volunteer | 2023 State TN plays on a high school team with three-ish point guards, including himself. Knittel, Bradin Minton Bradin Minton 6'2" | PG Volunteer | 2023 State TN , and Jolton Harrison are all able to pass, create, and score. Knittel is probably the biggest physically of the three with strong shoulders/arms. He projects as an NAIA guy, likely a college combo guard.
#99 Matthew Clemmer Matthew Clemmer 6'5" | SF William Blount (football) | 2023 State TN (William Blount-baseball)
Also an ambitious baseball starter, Clemmer is bouncy, nimble, and eager to engage in the physical clattering embedded in post play. He confirmed that he will play basketball again this winter.
#100 Max Elliot Max Elliot 6'7" | SF USN | 2023 State TN (USN)
Elite passer at 6-foot-5. Max showed off wonderful dribbling for a 6-foot-7 forward during June. Much more than a faceup four, Max is fully capable of driving with four or five dribbles, using his size to fend off reachers. There is some real promise to his game. On top of that, Max is not timid like some young forwards. He is assertive and foreboding defensively. And you can’t teach size. Look for him to breakout this season, after the senior-laden USN State Tournament team lost many offensive weapons to graduation.
