6’1 Mark Zackery IV
Without question, Mark Zackery was the most explosive and exciting prospect to watch in the 15u division. This dual-sport athlete was a complete offensive threat.
He knocked down several 3s in the game I watched, had 2 fast-break dunks, and showed incredible court vision often becoming a focal point of the opposing team’s defense and then dumping it off to the open man. I was told Zackery holds Div 1 footballs offers and interest. To add he’s a respectful and intelligent young man.
5’8 Uriah Tenette
Uriah played the role of the up-tempo floor general for a stacked D1 New Mexico squad. The rising sophomore is a tempo pusher and controlled the pace of the game for his team.
He was one of the quickest guards I watched with the ball all weekend. He had a unique ability to push the ball past his defenders in transition and score or draw the defense and make the right pass before the opposing team was able to set up. He shot the ball extremely well both off catch and the dribble. Several times creating his own mid-range pull-up. Don’t let his size be an indicator of his game, this guard can score in bunches.
6’0 Dominic Rhoades-Martinez
My third game of the day I watched this young prospect light it up going 4/5 from behind the arc in just the first half of his tough matchup with Team Teague. Dominic knew how to get to his spots and be ready to shoot.
He also displayed the ability to score at the rim in transition as well. Martinez took pride in his defensive effort and played extremely hard every minute he was on the floor. Even when his team was down his head didn’t drop and seemingly led the charge trying to pick his team back up. Great shooter, even better teammate.
6’10 Zane Gaul
Zane was a giant among boys. Given his size he showed the obvious dominance in the paint both in scoring and rebounds one would expect with his size.
When I saw him pull up for 3 and splash it I knew I was watching something special. A rising sophomore at 6’10 that rebounds, protects the paint and can stretch the floor with 3 point shooting shows just how high this young prospects ceiling is. I expect Gaul’s stock to rise substantially.
6’1 Tommy O’Hagan
Chapman’s sharpshooter and lead scorer the two games I watched. Tommy stayed active the entire game constantly moving to get himself in position for the 3.
He also displayed the ability to play the 1 handling the ball with confidence and attack the basket when there was an opening. O’Hagan was one of the better shooters I watched all weekend for 15u. A consistent performer and shooter.
