These are guards that displayed a lot of the qualities it takes to make a solid leader and a great point guard.
2025 6’0 Jaki Bell
This rising sophomore PG was efficient and controlled, leading his Metro Ballers squad in assists and points.
One of the quickest guards with the ball I watched this weekend. Jaki is an up-tempo player forcing the defense to conform to his style of play and rush back on defense. Bell Is a capable shooter, able to get paint touches, and a great on-ball defender. What stood out the most to me was his ability to draw defenders and hit teammates that were in the best position to score.
2025 5’8 Makai Smith
If you’re looking for a pure playmaker and hustle guy, look no further than Makai Smith. He’s on my radar simply for his ability to seemingly always make the right play. It’s rare for Smith to turn the ball over.
Makai can score, but it never seems to be his first priority, winning is. He’s far more physical than his frame would lead on, I constantly catch him playing up 16u and controlling the floor just as well as he does with 15u. Makai can shoot the ball and boasts a nice floater. I’d like to see this young prospect look to shoot the 3 a little more.
2025 5’8 Isaiah Newson
This SWFL prospect has a motor that just doesn’t stop. High energy player, relentless finisher and played with his foot to the floor till the final buzzer. He was without question the fastest player with and without the ball for 2025. Another prospect that I’d like to see shoot the ball behind the arc a bit more. Excited to watch this player lead his Cape Coral squad for his sophomore outing.
2025 5’11 Ismael Joseph
Ismael is a natural leader on the floor, he displayed a high IQ when coming down the floor and directing his teammates where to be when setting up an offense. Joseph is a floor general first setting his teammates up with solid looks. When his team needed him to score he was up for the task, finishing in transition and knocking down the open 3.
