This group on incoming juniors started the year off a little rough but it did not last long. The boys were learning their roles and figuring out how to play with eachother. By the second tournament, they showed great improvement and beat a really good ECI squad and a Pentagon Schoolers team. As the season went on, ND Attack had their best tournament at Prep Hoops Battle at the Lakes. They played four very talented teams and headed back to North Dakota with a perfect 4-0 record. When they got into the summer months ND Attack struggled again in the beginning but got back into the groove of things leading into the SPTS Finals. They met some very tough competition. Even though the scores were not always in ND Attack’s favor at the end of the game, the ballers showed great composure and teamwork. It was an excellent AAU season for ND Attack 16U Black!

Player Information
Landon Moser Landon Moser 6'1" | PG Northern Cass | 2024 State ND |6’1 PG| Northern Cass – “Landon was our go-to guy when it came to getting the ball up the court and getting our offense going. Landon really pushed the ball/tempo and it was rare for him to turn the ball over during crucial times of the game. Landon attacked the rim very well and when he got into his shooting rhythm, he could put up some quick points for us. Landon was also one of our best defenders.“
Keyton McGregor Keyton McGregor 6'1" | SG West Fargo | 2024 ND |6’1 G| West Fargo – “Keyton had a really good spring season. Keyton was another go-to guy to help get the ball up the court and we also stuck him on key players on the defensive end. I would describe Keyton as our “Junk Yard Dog”, he was not the biggest player on the court, but he was always on the floor diving for loose balls and grabbing rebounds in the paint. Keyton suffered a football injury and we were sad he could not join us for the summer season.“
Luke Martinson Luke Martinson 6'4" | PF Sargent County | 2024 State ND |6’4 PF| Sargent County – “Luke had a great AAU season both offensively and defensively. When Luke squares up to the basket he is tough to guard. He can shoot it from the outside, has a great mid-range shot, and he can attack/score with contact. Luke was our best free throw shooter, and was pretty automatic from the line.“
Max Musland Max Musland 6'4" | SG LaMoure-Litchville/Marion | 2024 State ND |6’4 SG| LaMoure-Litchville/Marion – “Max undoubtedly became more athletic as the season went on. He really came into his groove and hit some big shots for us during certain tournaments. Max’s length is deceiving and caused issues for other teams when they were trying to push the ball up the court. Max did a great job helping get the ball up the court. What most impresses me about Max, is his calmness. This kid does not get rattled and does a great job of getting rebounds, clearing the court, and making good sound decisions on both ends of the court.“
Tony Leal Tony Leal 6'5" | PF West Fargo | 2024 ND |6’4 PF| West Fargo – “X Factor….When Tony played well the team played well. This kid is a workhorse. Tony rebounds very well, and when he makes up his mind to attack the rim, he is tough to stop. Tony had a nice little jumper going for him this spring, and it made him extremely tough to guard. He also hit some big threes for us at times.”
Cole Holzer Cole Holzer 6'7" | PF Central Cass | 2024 State ND |6’6 PF Central Cass – “Cole is no doubt tough to deal with at times. Being a lefty gives him a huge advantage on the offensive end. When Cole let the game come to him, he was probably the biggest threat on the floor. He can shoot the long ball, get to the rim, finish, and grab a lot of rebounds. I saw great improvement with Cole’s passing in our last tournament. Cole made it very tough for the defense to guard him, as they did not know if he was going to the rim to score, or was going to make an outstanding dish to his teammates.“
Carter Vrchota Carter Vrchota 6'1" | SG Central Cass | 2024 State ND |6’0 SG| Central Cass – “Carter did a good job of handling the ball, attacking the rim, and has quick hands on the defensive end. When Carter embraces the game and lets it come to him he is a huge threat on both ends. This kid leaves it all on the court.“
Brycen Hoffer Brycen Hoffer 6'2" | SG Horace | 2024 State ND |6’2 G| Horace – “Brycen had to jump into the role of point guard when we lost Keyton this summer. When Brycen shot with confidence, had his feet set, and was ready to shoot, he could knock down threes to really help the team spread the floor.“
Jacob Nitschke Jacob Nitschke 6'5" | PF Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier | 2024 State ND |6’3 PF| Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier – “Jacob really showed improvement as the season went on. Jacob worked hard on both sides of the ball and he rebounded very well for us. Jacob hit some threes and I saw a huge improvement in his post-up game. Jacob learned to make a good hard move and finish at the rim with contact.“
Q & A with coach Travis Moser
PHD: What is your best memory from this AAU season?
Coach Moser: “My favorite memory from this year was at the Battle at the Lakes Tournament. These boys played so well and no doubt went 4-0 due to their effort and team play. They were looking for each other and played so selflessly that it was fun to watch. We played a very fast and intense North MPLS team, and after the game, all the boys were exhausted. In fact, so exhausted they did not have energy to enjoy the win……THAT WAS LEAVING IT ALL ON THE COURT!“
PHD: Who were a few of your hardest workers?
Coach Moser: “I would say Landon, Keyton, Max, and Luke were our “hardest workers”. I do not want to take away from the hard work the other boys did, because they all “worked hard”, but in every game these four players gave it everything they had on both ends of the court.“
PHD: Can you talk about a few of your best defenders?
Coach Moser: “Landon and Keyton were our two best defenders. If the other team had a true threat, or a kid that was just having a game, these two usually made the adjustment before being told to do so.“
PHD: Who was your best rebounder?
Coach Moser: “Tony and Luke were really our beasts on the boards. These two kids just love to get into the paint and get knocked around while fighting for a rebound. They were usually going against kids bigger and stronger, but that did not change their demeanor.“
PHD: Who improved the most over the season?
Coach Moser: “I would say Max and Jacob were our two most improved players. Both of them had different roles, but they both became so much more athletic, better scorers, and better defensive players. It was fun to watch them grow.“
PHD: When you needed a big bucket, who was your “go-to” player?
Coach Moser: “Our two main guys that we drew plays up for when we needed a bucket were Max and Cole. Both of them really demonstrated their capabilities to shoot from the outside. They had the ability to shoot the long ball or get a good mid-range shot, so that is what made it easy to put the ball in their hands when needed.“
PHD: Can you talk about your biggest offensive threat and what they did well?
Coach Moser: “The weird thing about this team is, that we did not have a true stand-out offensive player. It seemed to be a different player every game. Some games our guards (Landon, Keyton, Max, Carter) could get it going. Then the next game it might have been one of our “Bigs” (Cole, Luke, Tony, Jacob). It was fun to watch and to try and guess who was going to be “the guy” for that game.“
