Here are some of the best 17u standouts we saw at this event from outside of California.
Jaxson Roberts, Salt Lake Rebels 17u (UT) – Roberts just has a great all-around feel for the game and uses it to break down defenders in isolation situations to get paint touches to create scoring opportunities for himself or teammates. The 6-foot-2 guard is a shifty athlete with the ball on a string and has a crafty finishing package around the basket.
Isaac Garrett Isaac Garrett 6'8" | SF Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT , Salt Lake Rebels 17u (UT) – Garrett is a long, wiry and skilled forward whose advanced offensive skill-set at 6-feet-8. The rising senior can handle the ball on the perimeter and make decisions out of ball screen or dribble-drive action, he can knock down open three-point shots, has a capable mid-range jumper and uses his size well around the basket when finishing inside.
Liam Campbell, Select Basketball 17u Black (ID) – Campbell has been a name on the radar since his freshman season at Harvard-Westlake and it’s always good to get a look at the former SoCal-based prospect. The 6-foot-5 wing makes an impact in every facet of the game with his versatility. The rising junior can knock down deep perimeter jumpers as well as mid-range shots off the bounce, but he also has the strength and athleticism to drive his way to the basket and finish through contact.
Malik Abdullahi Malik Abdullahi 6'6" | SF Columbus | 2024 State FL , Team Hardaway 17s (FL) – Abdullahi was the biggest motor behind the Team Hardaway squad throughout this event. the 6-foot-7, class of 2024 forward was a menace on the offensive and defensive boards, guarded multiple positions, created high percentage scoring opportunities with his rim-running in transition and played with elite energy and effort on both ends of the floor.
Osiris Grady Osiris Grady 6'7" | PF Coronado | 2023 #195 Nation UT , Las Vegas Punishers 17s (NV) – Grady is a versatile offensive player whose 6-foot-8 frame and combination of ball skills and athleticism makes him a tough cover at his size. The rising senior is a hard-working interior scorer who has good footwork around the rim and uses his strength to power through contact and finish. Grady is a very good rim-runner for his size and plays with a good motor on both offense and defense.
