The sharp shooting combo guard was in his bag today as he provided some much needed shooting that helped elevate his team to a win. Not only is KJ. a good shooter he has a tough all-around game. Impressive performance out in the Carolina’s doing work with UBC.
6’0 PG Yogio Golesis || Kongo Elite || 2023 ||
This kid was showcasing his speed and athleticism as he was staying low to the ground getting down hill at the Pangos Top 80. Yorgio is one of the most athletic guards you will see out of Utah for his size. He gets to the rim and can get that ball off the glass real high away from the help and rim protectors. He has to be defended high because the kid can also shoot the rock,
6’0 PG Quentin Meza Quentin Meza 6'0" | PG Cyprus | 2023 State UT || Utah Prospects Adidas 3SSB || 2023 ||
Talk about a kid that doesn’t quit. Not only did he pull out a magical performance against a very good Team Loaded NC he hits the game winner with an outstretched big coming over on the help side. He is defending at a high level and he scores like no other. He is shooting at a high percentage from beyond the arc and he is not a volume shooter. This kid is proving he is D1 night in and night out against the best players in the country. Might be a LM prospect but the kid is good. Looking forward to seeing what coaches start to really buy in.
6’1 PG Jaxon Smith Jaxon Smith 6'1" | PG Woods Cross | 2023 State UT || Idaho Select || 2023 ||
The evolution of this kids game continues to rise as he has been passing the ball at an elite level and that vision really comes from playing high level QB for so many years. Really is a scoring guard that has vision and scoring ability. Really like him killing it at a D3 as he is a high academic find as well.
6’2 G Aaron Castagnetto || Utah Supreme || 2024 ||
Aaron is making that jump in his game as his skills are starting to pop out there. He is lighting it up from deep and you pair that up with his sleek little float game as well. This kid will be a superb asset for Provo as he is proving his stock rising bag at the Marquee hoops event. He is a bit off the radar but is slowly getting some traction in that Class of 2024.
6’3 PG Jordan Barnes Jordan Barnes 6'4" | PG Olympus | 2024 State UT || Utah Prospects Adidas 3SSB || 2024 ||
Talk about an elite performance and a game sealing three off of an in-bound as the shot clock was down to 1 second. Jordan is not only shaking his defenders he is getting space and creating for others. His quick shifty stop and go/change of pace style is really impressive. He has all the goods to really play at a high level and he is slowly getting it going from deep, because when he is on he is a force. Great floor general with high IQ.
