I primarily watched the 16 and 17U divisions plus some 15U games.
Here were some of the top skilled bigs I viewed:
Bradey Henige Bradey Henige 7'0" | C Cactus | 2024 State #192 Nation AZ Cactus (D1 Nation AZ 2024)
The most efficient post player in the 16U level is Bradey. He is an elite passer for the position, shot blocker and rebounder. He thinks the game like a guard and plays physically strong down low with all the post players. His left hand hook shot is money and he must be over 80% with all his layups. He can step out and hit the 3 on occasion too.
Graham Eikenberry C 6’10 2023 Lincoln/OR (BDH Elite)
An old school 5-man who scores it efficiently in the paint. He has hook shots, a soft FT touch and scores most of the time on put backs. He is mostly an under the rim scorer but gobbles up boards and will block shots. He keeps the ball high and outlets impressively up the court to his guards.
Angel Corona PF 6’7 2023 Westchester/CA (Sac Hoyas)
One of the untapped potential players has leaned out reportedly 100 lbs! He is moving better and has big hands to catch passes in traffic. He still is very thick, has a stronger frame and uses his girth and length to rebound. He plays with physicality and passes well out of the post on double teams. He is patient scorer primarily in the paint.
Elijah O’Reilly PF 6’5 2024 Murrieta Valley/CA (Gamepoint Inland Empire 2024)
A physical lefty is all power but he is a phenomenal passer for his position. He almost over passes but is trying to make the correct play. He gets downhill with his dominant left hand fairly easily backing defenders down with strength and a handle. He rebounds at a good clip with his physical gifts.
Owen Alleman Owen Alleman 6'10" | C Thomas Jefferson | 2024 State CO Thomas Jefferson (Miners Elite 2024) (Pictured)
A long post player who is pushing 6’9 was one of the top shot blockers in the 16U level along with Henige. He times the ball and reacts quickly to block the ball with his long limbs. He scores it around the basket with hook shots and layups with a decent touch. The stronger he gets moving forward, everything will be even easier.
Neco Clark PF 6’7 Cedar Ridge/NC (NC Wildcats 2023)
A face-up four-man with some skill. He can shoot it from mid-range and in and is efficient around the hoop. A lot of his points are from put backs after he rim runs and grabs the offensive rebound.
Christian Wilson PF 6’5 2023 John W North/CA (D1 Southern California 2023)
A face-up four-man who literally is a clone of Big Baby Glen Davis. He is ridiculously strong and you can tell he plays football and been in the weight room a few times. But his skill is impressive to go along with his power. He hits 3’s with pretty ball rotation and range off the catch. He will create shots with his handle and go to work in the paint.
Ray Wiggins PF 6’4 2024 Venture Academy/CA (No Fear Elite)
An inside out threat can comfortably step out and hit from the three point line. He has a nice looking stroke and is fairly consistent with it. He will block shots, rebound with a strong base and runs the floor well. He will score with his back to the basket with hook shots but prefers to shoot it from the perimeter.
Kevin Sylla Kevin Sylla 6'8" | PF Smoky Hill | 2024 State CO Colorado Prep (New Mexico D1 2024)
A big man with real strength and girth. He has massive hands to catch nearly any pass thrown his way and he will go to work in the trenches. He can face-up a little but is best closest to the rim. Kevin is reportedly transferring to CO Prep from Smoky Hill/CO.
