I primarily watched the 16 and 17U divisions plus some 15U games.
Here were some of the top athletic PF’s I viewed:
Erick Paye Erick Paye 6'5" | PF Grand Forks Central | 2024 ND Grand Forks Central (Bearstail Basketball 2024) (Pictured)
A thicker four-man is a run and jump athlete with a strong frame. He plays with a high motor to get on the glass and consistently gives his team extra possessions. He uses his quick second jump and football type of body to seemingly bounce off of defenders to corral the board. He will mostly score on dunks and put backs.
Elijah Edwards PF 6’7 2023 LA Premier Prep/CA (Team Eleate 2023)
A strong lefty forward with some springs. He plays with a high motor to rebound and defends nearly every position. He can shoot it from elbow and in and make the occasional three. He is a star in transition with an impressive layup package.
Ryan Dixon Ryan Dixon 6'5" | PF Valor Christian | 2024 State CO Valor Christian (Team Revenge 2024)
An elite motored four-man with a big vertical. He springs up quickly but he runs the court and plays hard every possession. He can straight line drive with his dominant right hand and scores on put backs, transition dunks and he can occasionally face-up to the 3pt line and in. He corralled the most impressive rebound in the air in heavy traffic of the weekend.
Devin Mabry PF 6’7 2023 Spring Valley/NV (Chosen Few 2023)
An athletic four-man plays with energy. He is the top of the food chain as a leaper to get that first initial ball or to block a shot. When he is willing, he is an efficient scorer near the hoop and runs the floor fairly well. He can be more aggressive as a scorer but made some nice passes showing court awareness and playing with a good IQ.
Larry Lewis PF 6’7 2024 (Team Rampage 2024)
A fluid athlete is very light on his toes. He has pretty good size for position and he is effective around the basket with hook shots, layups and put backs. He has a motor to rebound and shows energy on both ends of the court.
Zyere Johnson-Curry PF 6’5 2024 Rancho Cucamonga/CA (Rancho Elite 2024)
The top glass cleaner of the 16U division is definitely ZJC. 80% of his points come off of offensive rebound put backs. He does score with pick and roll action straight to the rim. He will block shots, rim run and of course rebound the ball at a very high level.
Malachi Henningham Malachi Henningham 6'5" | PF Fairfax | 2026 AZ Chandler (AZ Gremlins 2025-1)
A powerfully built four man is a fun watch. He plays so hard every possession and almost wills his way inside the paint to score through or over some opponents with his impressive bounce. His shot can get a little more arc on the ball, but he is a capable perimeter shooter from the three.
Henry Morrison PF 6’6 2024 FlintRidge Prep/CA (BTI Elite 2024)
A long four-man with an elite motor and some springs. He grabs rebounds in bunches and he doesn’t have the chiseled frame but his length, will and a quick second jump, get the job done. He comes with post moves, faces up to the elbow and footwork to score.
