Let’s Recap Night 1 With Standout Performances:
Aiden Sullivan Aiden Sullivan 6'8" | PF Olathe Northwest | 2023 State KS , 6’8 F, Drive 5, 2023: The energetic and intense forward made a living in the painted area today both on the glass and finishing with both hands through contact. Very explosive off the floor and was super efficient. Showed he is continuing to improve the consistency on his jump shot stretching the floor some, and still blocks shots at a high level.
Blake Rucker Blake Rucker 6'3" | SG Andover | 2024 State KS , 6’3 G, Drive 5, 2024: Can get overlooked on a loaded Andover roster, but Rucker is a bucket getter himself. Really does a great job of creating separation off screens and off the bounce and rose up and fired with big time confidence. Shoots the ball at a really high level in a variety of ways from different areas of the floor. Had a big game tonight scoring the ball and really stretched the defense out and was a tough cover.
Michael Kates Michael Kates 5'9" | PG Maize South | 2024 State KS , 5’11 PG, Buddy Buckets, 2024: Really expanded his point guard play and showed today that he is a great guard both on and off the ball. Very efficient shooter with a high basketball IQ and really takes great shots each opportunity. Does a great job of getting his team into their sets, controlling tempo, and is a solid playmaker after drawing defensive help.
Tommy McDowell, 6’6 W/F, 810 Varsity, 2023: Got a good spring to him and he plays really hard on both ends. Has nice touch in the painted area and has a little two foot power game as well. Really nice athletic wing or small ball 4 prospect. Gets his hands on a ton of shots, cleans up both glasses, and is good rotating. Attacked it well from the mid post area when he got touches.
PG Tandem, Mikey Williams and Jamon Wilson, SSA Elite Black, 2025: Wilson had two solid games beating defenders off the bounce and getting downhill. Game one was the standout performance though making multiple high level passes off the bounce to shooters in the corner or the long wings cutting to the rim. Scored it efficiently at the rim off the drive and guarded the ball at a high level all day. Williams in Game 2 was a catalyst for the group in their win. Really bringing a defensive intensity on and away from the ball. Also knocked down a couple of threes in the game, got a couple of transition layups, and got paint touches off the dribble.
Kalen Streit Kalen Streit 6'1" | SG Bonner Springs | 2024 State KS , 6’1 G, Phenom Hoops, 2024: Had a nice day at the hardwood. Really athletic playmaking and scoring guard continued to show the flashes of his skill set. Continues to get better tournament to tournament. Really bouncy guard with great instincts and athletic ability to fly around the floor. Really solid catch and shoot player especially when the ball comes from the paint.
