The event featured some of the top private schools from Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina, and had hundreds of college coaches in attendance. We’ll have tons of content from the weekend, continuing with some of the 2025 standouts from MD.
Malik Washington Malik Washington 6'5" | SF Archbishop Spalding | 2025 MD | 6’5” F | Arcbishop Spalding
Washington made a big name for himself in session one, and followed it up session two with a phenomenal display of efficiency and production. He’s an elite athlete who plays above the rim and is strong in the paint and plays through contact, he can step out and handle the ball and blow by defenders and he’s a big time rebounder and can guard almost any position on the floor. While he’s a high major football recruit, he’s showing that he could be a big time basketball recruit too if he decides to go that route.
Akbar Waheed | 6’5” CG | Georgetown Prep
Waheed is so intriguing as a prospect with his mix of size and skill at his position, and he’s starting to put it all together and looks like he’ll be a big time recruit moving forward. At 6’5” he has a tight handle and can create space off the bounce, he changes speeds and directions well, he’s a very good shotmaker both from deep and in the midrange and he can get downhill and finish at the rim or make plays for others. The son of a Georgetown assistant, it’s not only in his genes but also in his mind and work ethic, and he’s ready to explode moving forward.
Tyler Jackson Tyler Jackson 6'2" | CG St. Frances | 2025 #40 Nation MD | 6’2” PG | St. Frances
Jackson was a standout at session one and in session two he just reaffirmed my thought that he will be one of the top young players in the BCL this year. While he plays in a backcourt with two high major commits that are seniors, Jackson showed he’s a viable option as a scorer and showed he can run the show or move off the ball and let one of them initiate the offense. He has good speed with the ball in his hands, he can knock down shots from deep and get to the rim where he can finish and he brings a toughness to the game on both ends of the floor.
Jacob Ross Jacob Ross 6'5" | SF Long Island Lutheran | 2025 State #134 Nation NY | 6’5” WF | St. James
Ross is the little brother of Jayden Ross Jayden Ross 6'7" | SF Long Island Lutheran | 2023 #144 Nation MD who recently committed to UConn, and the way he’s playing as such a young player he looks like he could be headed that route as he continues to grow and develop as a player. He has good size and a great skillset on the perimeter as he can handle it and get downhill, he can stick it from deep when he’s left open and he’s a smooth athlete who’s more explosive than he looks. He’s just scratching the surface and some have said that he’s better than his brother was at his age.
Joseph Green Joseph Green 6'2" | CG Mount St. Joseph | 2025 State MD | 6’2” CG | Mt. St. Joe’s
Green is a very intriguing young prospect for MSJ that has a lot of tools already and a lot of room to grow on both ends of the floor. He’s lightning quick off the bounce with a good first step and good burst as well, he’s aggressive on both ends of the floor and he can knock down shots when he’s left open. He has a lot of potential on both ends of the floor and should be a guy to watch in the Baltimore area moving forward.
