At Inspire Courts there were some prospects and top-tier talent, and I am going to give some of these athletes the recognition they deserve. Here is your Brawl for the Ball 17U All-Tournament Second Team.
Ibrahim Souare Ibrahim Souare 6'10" | C Dream City Christian International | 2024 #207 Nation AZ – PF – 6’8” – 2024 Dream City Christian (AZ Unity EYBL 2024)
On the stacked EYBL team, Ibrahim was able to shine through and show that he isn’t just a big body. Standing at 6’8” he was able to show that he can do anything on a basketball court. His biggest strength though had to be his agility for his size. He can move on defense and stay with any big or guard including being the front man for his defense at all times. His quickness translated to the offensive end as well including having a game-winning steal and fastbreak dunk.
Salim Arikat – PF/C – 6’8” – 2023 Sc Academy (Team Rampage Elite)
The co-star of Team Rampage Elite is an all-around big man who is very skilled in everything he does. For his size, he is a true big man, but at the same time, you will see him push the ball in transition like a point guard. He will shoot it from deep at a high percentage, but he will also put it on the floor and euro step his way into an easy bucket. Salim truly does have the ability to play all five positions.
Myles Reed Anderson Myles Reed Anderson 6'8" | C Castle View | 2023 CO – PF – 6’8” – 2023 Castle View (Colorado Premier)
For his tall frame, he is a bit thin but plays elite defense, blocking shots and protecting the paint at all costs. He excels in the paint finishing everything in his possession while grabbing every offensive rebound with ease to put it right back up for a strong dunk. Myles does a great job of knowing what he is good at doing that religiously. You won’t see him take too many outside jumpers, but he will punish you in the paint.
Alex Wells Alex Wells 6'3" | SG Phhoenix Prep | 2024 State AZ – PG/SG – 6’3” – 2024 Eastmark (TaylorMade Elite)
This player has all the tools to be a well-put-together combo guard. Alex also has insane bunnies for a kid his size. With the fact that I was watching so many games this weekend and I only saw him play twice, I saw him poster someone twice! That is not the only thing he does though. What impressed me is how offensively skilled he really is. A lot of the prospects use their bodies to their advantage, but he might have been the most skilled guard at the circuit.
Ethan Faas Ethan Faas 6'5" | PF Arcadia | 2023 State AZ – SF – 6’4” – 2023 Arcadia (Arizona Firestorm)
Power player. He is a traditional big man in an undersized body that still manages to penalize both guards and bigs, no matter their size. For Ethan’s 6’4” frame, he is well built and controls a lot of what happens on every court that he plays at. I was also very impressed by his shot-making ability and when he decided to do what. His shot selection instantly made him more noticeable and quickly being able to realize his matchup and exploit that.
