2025 SD Top 15 Prospects
Ben Brooks Ben Brooks 6'9" | SF Madison | 2025 State SD |6’7 PF| Madison
He is the best prospect in the 2025 Class with his size, length, mobility, athleticism, and skills. Brooks is a 5-tool player that can do a bit of everything. For a 6’7″ player, Brooks passes it exceptionally well. He looks like a sure-fire scholarship prospect with the potential to be an NSIC player and/or the Mid-Major level. Brooks has been playing great in AAU ball. He has been a standout with SD Attack. His scoring from all 3-levels has been impressive. There are not many players with his length that can hit jumpers and stroke 3-’s like Brooks can. The BIG Dog from Madison is going to have a coming-out party for Milbank in the coming season.
Easton Neuendorf Easton Neuendorf 5'11" | PG Hamlin | 2025 State SD |5’10 PG| Hamlin
He and Team Warick 15U are fresh off a big tournament win in Las Vegas! He is the top PG in this class and I saw it first hand this winter. You do not even have to see Neuendorf shoot to know that he is a stud. He has the “it” factor, plays with poise, is uber-skilled, and he runs the show with a calm demeanor. Easton shoots it well and he is a high assist man. Neuendorf is constantly creating for others and making smart basketball plays. He and is backcourt mate, Talley make a dynamic duo for Team Warwick. They have been dominant all AAU season. In high school ball, Easton will be one of the top PG’s in Class A. He and the Chargers are going to be a scary team this season and I will not be surprised when they make a postseason run.
Bryon Laue Bryon Laue 6'9" | PF Castlewood | 2025 State SD |6’7 PF| Castlewood
He knows how to win as he helped his team get to the State Tournamnet last year. Expect another big year for the Warriors and for Laue to have a huge season. In Class B, most opponents do not have a player to match his size, so Laue will see double-teams on a nightly basis. I expect him to average a double-double and to be a DUDE. In AAU, Bryon is playing up an age level and has been dominant at times. His strength, power, and finishing have improved this offseason. Get to know Mr. Laue’s name, this BIG is the real deal.
Markus Talley Markus Talley 6'2" | PG Mitchell | 2025 State SD |6’0 SG| Mitchell
He helped Team Warick win the Championship this past weekend out in Las Vegas. This lefty is a pure sharpshooter from beyond the arc. I know Mitchell is a basketball community, but Talley has to be one of the best shooters in that town. He has been excellent for Team Warick in AAU ball. He and Neuendorf make up a dynamic backcourt for their AAU squad. These top prospects have a basketball connection, they always know where each other are on the court, and they play perfectly off each other. Talley is a fast and speedy athlete with a good head on his shoulders. Expect a breakout high school season from this Kernel.
Shawn Hammerbeck Shawn Hammerbeck 6'7" | PF Winner | 2025 State SD |6’6 PF| Winner
He helped the Warriors get to the State Tournament and win 23 games last season. The big, strong, old-school post averaged 6.2 ppg, 3.9 rpg, .6 apg, and .7 spg. His numbers will no doubt shoot up this next season as he sees his role increase. Hammerbeck is a physical player that does not back down from contact. He is great at carving out space in the paint and at getting his hands on rebounds. He can create space by drilling perimeter jumpers. The SD Attack player is also a bouncy athlete that can throw down explosively. Hammerback is a monster!
Edison Noll Edison Noll 6'0" | CG Sioux Falls Lincoln | 2025 State SD |5’11 G| Sioux Falls Lincoln
He has been productive and steady all AAU season with SD Attack. Noll is surrounded by excellent talent and SD Attack plays quality competition. There is no doubt that Edison will be an improved player by the end of the summer. LHS lost large amounts of talent to graduation. There should be opportunities for Noll to compete for playing time on varsity. Noll scores from all areas of the court. He has all the offensive skills needed to be an efficient AA player. He attacks the rim hard and he finishes athletically. Edison plays fast and hard. His future looks bright for the Pats.
Griffen Goodbary Griffen Goodbary 6'10" | PF Sioux Falls Christian | 2025 State SD |6’5 PF| Sioux Falls Christian
We have another talented player from a great program. Griffen also has basketball in his blood and great hoops lineage. Griffen is not afraid of contact and he can bang on the block. He will battle for boards and compete for the rock. His jumper is smooth from 15 feet and he can cash them out the three-point land. His length and skill make Goodbary a burdensome matchup. This young BIG man has a very high ceiling.
Braeden Feeldy Braeden Feeldy 5'10" | PG Harrisburg | 2025 State SD |5’10 SG| Harrisburg
The Tigers have a top-notch system and an excellent coach. Feeldy is a talented player that fits in perfectly with the rest of the loaded Harrisburg roster. The Tigers will easily be one of the best teams in AA next year and Braeden will be tested every day in practice. In AAU ball, Braeden has been playing very well for SD Attack. On the court, Feeldy is as tough as they come. He has great court awareness and he shares the ball. He is creative going downhill. His jumper is always improving. Feeldy is a player on the rise.
Boston Katzer Boston Katzer 6'3" | SG Lennox | 2025 State SD |6’2 SF| McCook Central-Montrose
This Fighting Couger is a special athlete that had an outstanding freshman season. Katzer averaged 11.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg, and 2.5 spg. It is rare for a frosh to put up those kinds of numbers in Class A ball. His size and strength are impressive for an incoming sophomore. Boston does work in the paint and on the wing. He lives and breathes basketball. This kid is a gym rat. Expect him to continue to improve his overall game. Katzer will likely put up gaudy numbers next season.
Cole Snyder Cole Snyder 6'0" | CG Sioux Falls Christian | 2025 State SD |5’10 SG| Sioux Falls Christian
Like many players on this list, Snyder comes from an excellent program that is winning many games every year. SFC went to State this past year and they won the Big Dance the year before. Snyder is a gifted player with a natural shooting ability. When I watched him this winter, he was a clutch shooter in a huge win over Sioux Valley. Snyder hit some BIG shots! His shot is pure, smooth, and quick. If you like shooters, you need to check this Charger out. SFC and young Mr. Snyder are going to be scary!
Maverick Nelson Maverick Nelson 6'3" | SG Sioux Valley | 2025 State SD |6’2 SG| Sioux Valley
He is a very nice player in a great basketball program. Nelson and the Cossacks know how to win, they finished last season with the Runner-up trophy at the State Tournament. SV will be tough again this coming year and Maverick will have a major role to play. Nelson is already a talented player but his upside and potential are very high. He is a long guard and he will likely keep growing. Maverick has natural basketball instincts and is a skilled player. When I watched him play this winter he looked like a talented slasher and a capable 3-point shooter. Mr. Nelson is definitely a player to keep tabs on.
Tad Tjaden Tad Tjaden 6'6" | SF Dell Rapids | 2025 State SD |6’5 SG| Dell Rapids
He has been playing very well for coach Walker and the Pentagon Schoolers. Tad can score from everywhere and he is gaining confidence in his 3-point shot. Dell Rapids is the hot team right now in Class A and Tjaden will be a big part of any success that the Quarriers have next season. His size and athleticism are certainly noteworthy. This lefty can do it all on the hardwood. Tjaden scores well, passes smoothly, boards up alters shots, and is a versatile defender. Keep eyes on this long athlete with a ton of potential.
Paul Parsley Paul Parsley 6'3" | SG Flandreau | 2025 State SD |6’1 SG| Flandreau
He was a role player and a glue guy for the 20-5 Fliers last season. Flandreau made it to the State Tournamnet, therefore Paul has big-game experience under his belt. He should come into this season full of confidence and be ready to take on a huge role for the Fliers. Flandreau lost a ton of talent off last year’s team and I expect the young Parsley to be a top player Flandreau. He is an intriguing athlete with a ton of upside. It is going to be interesting to see if Paul will step up to the big stage in his sophomore season.
Logan Collette Logan Collette 5'11" | SG Dakota Valley | 2025 State SD |5’11 SG| Dakota Valley
He was part of the Panther program that won the Class A State Championship and went 26-0 last season. There is no doubt that those winning habits will have rubbed off on Mr. Collette. Dakota Valley will be a loaded team again in 2022-2023. The Panthers lost a few seniors, so Logan may have a chance to step in and get some varsity burn. The Panthers like to shoot the 3-ball and Collette is a 3-point sniper. Coach Kleis has to be licking his chops when he watches Collette play. Logan is not just a shooter, he has a high IQ and will continue to work at his game. Look out for DV and this young shooter.
JD Green JD Green 6'0" | PG Rapid City Stevens | 2025 State SD |6’0 G| St. Thomas More
He is a two-way player with all sorts of potential. Green can create for others and himself. He can put the ball on the floor to facilitate shots for his teammates or get himself a good look. He has the potential to be a very nice shooter. JD is a dangerous slasher and a playmaker. On defense, his size, and athleticism make Green a future lockdown defender. STM went to State this past season and Green has the taste of winning in his mouth. The Cavaliers will be a tough team again this year and Green will be a key contributor.
