Jack Daugherty Jack Daugherty 6'8" | PF Brookfield Central | 2024 State #311 Nation WI – 2024 – F – Phenom University
Could see Division 1 programs start to jump on board here. Not only has Daugherty started to catch fire, he’s turning in all-around performances and stacking the box score in Nike EYBL play. The 6-foot-8 forward is a deadly 3-point shooter that also moves exceptionally well without the basketball. He’s steadily gaining confidence as a scorer off the bounce and able to create matchup problems. Likely a prospect that just keeps climbing the rankings over the next two years, Daugherty has a high ceiling and is starting to really find himself on the floor.
Marcus Hall Marcus Hall 6'5" | SF D.C. Everest | 2023 State WI – 2023 – F – Wisconsin Swing
Got Hall going way up in the next rankings update. The 6-foot-8 junior is a sweet-shooting stretch forward that can create some serious matchup problems. Hall can handle the rock and score in isolation. You can put him on the block. Hall has an advanced fall away game in the post and can use his size to shoot over the top. Hall is a swingman, floor spacer, and a sniper who can run off screens. Not only a highly sought after Division 2 prospect, Hall has since landed his first D1 opportunity from Green Bay.
Sekou Konneh Sekou Konneh 6'6" | SF St. Thomas More | 2024 State WI – 2024 – F – Team Haliburton
Huge, huge upside on this prospect. Konneh is a plus-length, explosive athlete with some skill. He’s very raw physically, but is a much better mid-range and post scorer than you’d think. Holding a Division 1 offer from UW-Milwaukee, Konneh can do some scary things in the 8-12 foot range. You get him out in transition and it’s over. Konneh is a long strider that covers ground quickly. There’s also few defenders that are going to be able to keep him off the rim when Konneh gets a head of steam.
Emmett Lawton Emmett Lawton 6'2" | SG Notre Dame Academy | 2023 State WI – 2023 – SG – Team 1848
Lawton is coming off a huge weekend at the Prep Hoops Hard Work Region Finals, helping lead Team 1848 to the 17U title. One of the top shooters in the state, Lawton has the green light whenever he wants it. If you don’t close hard with a hand up, as a defender, you’re going to play. Also a sneaky athlete who can play an uptempo style, Lawton should be catching Division 2 looks for the remainder of the summer and into his senior season.
Quinton Lomack Quinton Lomack 6'1" | CG Madison La Follette | 2024 WI – 2024 – PG – Phenom University
Lomack recently landed his first offer from UW-Milwaukee and it was well deserved. The Madison Lafollette standout has developed into a pure point guard who can run a team. Lomack also has exceptional size (6-2) and strength for the position. He’s a bulldog that can bully his way to the rim, but has also drastically improved his court awareness and feel for the game — two areas that typically don’t change this late in a career.
Collin Madson Collin Madson 6'4" | PG Mukwonago | 2023 State WI – 2023 – G – 24:UP
Madison is under ranked right now in the 2023 class. The Mukwonago standout is a do-it-all guard that can lead his team in every major statistical category whenever he steps on the floor. Madson balances the role of a leading scorer and facilitator very well. He can simultaneously explode offensively, while also making good decisions with the basketball and setting up his teammates. The 6-foot-4 guard is going to impact the game in a variety of ways and make those around him better.
Michael McNabb Michael McNabb 6'4" | CG Grafton | 2024 State WI – 2024 – G – Chapman Basketball Academy
Going to have McNabb ranked favorably in the next update. McNabb is a killer that just goes about his business each time he steps on the floor. The 6-foot-4 combo guard plays at his own pace and can make 30-point efforts look routine. He’s so confident in what he’s doing, McNabb can’t be sped up against pressure and seems to move effortlessly through traffic with the basketball. Also a standout defender, McNabb has a knack for creating turnovers and can do so before the opposition even gets into their sets.
Simeon Murchison Simeon Murchison 6'9" | PF Milwaukee Bay View | 2023 State WI – 2023 – PF – Team Haliburton
Like the gains Murchison is making. The 6-foot-8 forward has an excellent camp at Wisconsin and showcased an improved jumper as well as some more skill on the block. Picking up an offer from UW-Milwaukee, Murchison is always going to give you a presence around the rim on both ends of the floor. He’s a strong, athletic, physically imposing player that will generate second chance points on offense and protect the rim on defense. Also think he’s a very underrated 1-on-1 post defender, who doesn’t let you back him down and has a nice blend of strength and length in his frame.
Demerius Shakur Demerius Shakur 6'2" | CG Martin Luther | 2023 State WI – 2023 – PG – Wisconsin Playground Club
Eager to see what Shakur does in the Under Armour Finals. The Martin Luther product was playing his best ball at the Prep Hoops Summer Challenge to start the month. Really like Shakur’s ability to finish over bigger defenders. He’s all but perfected his running floater. When his teammates are playing well, it really opens up Shakur’s game. A dangerous threat in the pick n’ roll, Shakur is an excellent decision maker who can find shooters, hit the roll/pop man, or pick apart a defense off the dribble.
William Whorton William Whorton 6'8" | PF Rufus King | 2023 State WI – 2023 – F – Wisconsin Playground Club
Arguably nobody in the 2023 class has more upside than Whorton. A 6-foot-8, bouncy forward that runs like a deer, Whorton has not only steadily gotten better over the last two years, but he remains extremely far from his ceiling. Whorton’s been shooting the ball well from all areas. He’s always going to give you the highlight plays above the rim in transition on both ends. He’s very raw physically, but Whorton has a little dawg in him and makes those hustle plays that you might not expect from him. The Milwaukee King product is starting to learn how to score in the halfcourt and be a threat when the game isn’t all up and down, which is going to make him more appealing to Division 1 programs.
