Prospects across the Garden State are looking to have strong weekends in front of college coaches and this weekend is no different. The wing class has seen some good success over the past couple of days and are looking to continue the trend this weekend. Here are the Garden State wings to watch this weekend.
Dasear Haskins Dasear Haskins 6'8" | SF Camden | 2023 State NJ , 6’7 SF Camden 2023
Haskins had a strong weekend for the High last weekend at Philly Live Session 1 and should have a strong Session 2 this coming weekend. The 6’7 lefty has a nice release on his jumper and shoots the ball with confidence from behind the arc. Haskins moves well without the ball in his hands and is a solid finisher around the basket. He is an underrated rebounder and has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor. Haskins recently picked up an offer from Texas A&M Commerce and could receive more offers with a good weekend.
Anthony Akande Anthony Akande 6'4" | SG Arts | 2024 State NJ , 6’4 SG Arts 2024
Akande’s collegiate future will most likely be in the back court, but he has the potential to play on the wing. The 6’4 guard is at his best attacking the basket as he is a good finisher around the basket and does not mind contact. Akande is more than just a slasher as he can also score in the mid-range and knock down open shots from behind the arc. He has the athleticism to defend both guard spots and is a solid passer. Akande picked up his first offer from Iona recently and has the potential to rise up the rankings with another strong weekend.
Zack Davis Zack Davis 6'7" | SF Peddie | 2024 State NJ , 6’7 SF Peddie 2024
Davis has the potential to play either the three or the four at the next level due to his size and floor-spacing ability. The 6’7 forward shoots the ball with confidence from behind the arc and sets his feet before he shoots. Davis has a nice touch around the basket and can get position in the paint. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and can put the ball on the floor. Davis’ ability to knock down jumpers from behind the arc is something that will help his stock in a big way this weekend at the Mid-Atlantic Independent School Shootout.
Matt Kinzler Matt Kinzler 6'7" | PF St. Peter's Prep | 2023 State NJ , 6’7 SF St. Peter’s Prep 2023
Kinzler and classmate Jackson Tindall Jackson Tindall 6'7" | PF St. Peter's Prep | 2024 NLG are ones to watch this weekend for the Marauders at Philly Live Session 2. The former has a smooth release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Kinzler moves well without the ball in his hands, setting himself up for easy shots and layups. He is a good rebounder and rarely makes mistakes with the ball in his hands. Kinzler’s ability to knock down jumpers from behind the arc is something that will help his stock in a big way.
Brandon Lee, 6’3 SG Patrick School 2025
Lee will most likely end up in the backcourt at the next level but can also play on the wing in three-guard lineups. The 6’3 guard attacks the basket strong and does not mind drawing contact. Lee is more than just a slasher as he has a good shooting stroke and does not rush his shot in the halfcourt. He is a solid passer and moves his feet well on the defensive end. Lee’s ability to make an impact at both ends of the floor is something that will help him have a strong weekend.
