Some high school teams have gotten a few workouts under their belt this week, but games will begin on Saturday with a couple of high profile shootouts. Down at Indiana University, the first Mike Woodson Team Shootout will play featuring some of the Hoosiers top recruits and other great teams around the state and surrounding area. Also, Warren Central High School will be hosting a shootout as well. I’ll be at Warren Central covering their event on Saturday morning. Here are some of the top teams you can see this weekend.
Beech Grove H.S.
- Where: Warren Central H.S. vs. Arsenal Tech, Eastern Hancock, and Christel House.
- Prospect to Watch: Jeremiah Alexander (2023). After winning the Class 3A state title as a junior, this two-way guard is back looking for a repeat. 6’7″ forward Anthony Ball Anthony Ball 6'6" | PF Decatur Central | 2023 State IN is off to Crispus Attucks, but the Hornets still have a lot of talent.
Bloomington H.S. North
- Where: Indiana University
- Prospect to Watch: JaQualon Roberts JaQualon Roberts 6'8" | PF Bloomington North | 2023 State IN (2023). Roberts holds an IU offer, along with a handful of other high-major schools, and is coming off a strong spring with Indiana Elite.
Brownsburg H.S.
- Where: Indiana University
- Prospect to Watch: Kanon Catchings Kanon Catchings 6'8" | PF Overtime Elite (GA) | 2024 #31 Nation GA (2024). The fast rising 6’7″ shooter recently earned his first offer from Purdue. Catchings has a lot of Big 10 interest.
Brownstown Central H.S.
- Where: Indiana University
- Prospect to Watch: Jack Benter Jack Benter 6'4" | SG Brownstown Central | 2024 State #121 Nation IN (2024). Benter is one of the best scorers in the state of Indiana that can light it up from beyond the arc. Has a couple of early Division I offers and plenty of high-major interest.
Carmel H.S.
- Where: Indiana University
- Prospect to Watch: Garwey Dual Garwey Dual 6'5" | PG Carmel | 2023 #113 Nation CA-S (2023). 6’8″ sharpshooter Sam Orme Sam Orme 6'9" | SF Carmel | 2023 State #196 Nation IN (2023) is another top prospect for the Greyhounds, but Dual has been the story of the spring going from rotation piece to 4-star recruit with high-major offers.
Fishers H.S.
- Where: Indiana University
- Prospect to Watch: Jalen Haralson Jalen Haralson 6'7" | PG La Lumiere | 2025 #8 Nation IN (2025). This 6’7″ point guard is one of the top 2025 prospects in the state already holding offers from Indiana, Purdue, Maryland, and Missouri.
Heritage Hills H.S.
- Where: Indiana University
- Prospect to Watch: Trent Sisley Trent Sisley 6'8" | PF Heritage Hills | 2025 State #47 Nation IN (2025). An ultra-skilled 6’7″ forward, Sisley has offers from Indiana and Purdue and has had a great spring playing up with Indy Heat 16u on the EYBL circuit.
Lawrence Central H.S.
- Where: Warren Central H.S. vs. Northeastern, Guerin Catholic, East Chicago Central.
- Prospect to Watch: Kamari Jones Kamari Jones 6'4" | SG Lawrence Centra (IN) / Hilcrest Prep (AZ) | 2023 IN (2023). One of the top under-the-radar prospects in the state, the 6’4″ Jones is an elite scorer with great athleticism to match. Big time shot-maker has played well with D1 Indiana in the spring.
North Central H.S.
- Where: Indiana University
- Prospect to Watch: Joey Brown Joey Brown 6'6" | SG North Central | 2023 State #280 Nation IN (2023). Just a couple of weeks back on the court and the 6’6″ versatile wing is picking up where he left off. Can play/guard the 1-4 positions and is one of the most underrated playmakers in the state of Indiana. High-major talent.
Warren Central H.S.
- Where: Warren Central H.S. vs. Thrival Academy, George Washington, and Heritage Christian.
- Prospect to Watch: Jevon Guess Jevon Guess 6'6" | PF Warren Central | 2025 State IN (2025). This 6’5″ forward is super physical, moves well for his size, and is a relentless rebounder. Has had a great spring for Indy Heat EYBL.
