3 to 2… Robert Wright III Robert Wright III 6'0" | PG Montverde Academy (FL) | 2024 State #35 Nation FL – 6’0” / Neumann-Goretti / Team Final EYBL / Point Guard: In March this do everything floor general led NG to the 4A state title while averaging 21 points and 5.8 assists per game during the tourney. As a result, Wright was named 1st Team All-State as well as the 2021-22 PIAA 4A Player of the Year. Then Wright hit the grassroots circuit and continued to post ridiculous performances. He tipped off the season by guiding TF 16s to HG Spring Jam Fest title. Later at the Gym Rats Live tournament (NY), Wright’s ability to score and facilitate for teammates produced a 4-0 record for Team Final , plus an MVP award for Wright. In late May at Nike EYBL Session III (KY), Wright averaged 19.4 ppg. and 6.8 apg. as he pushed Team Final to a 5-1 record. His off the charts play over the last two months brought in offers from Maryland, Penn State and Kansas State.
NR to 50…Josh Reed – 6’3” / Archbishop Wood / Philly Revolution / Shooting Guard: The standout player from our No. 2 ranked 16U squad averaged 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 dimes per game this spring. Reed is a bouncy scoring machine who can contribute at all three levels. Additionally, Reed rebounds well for a guard. He frequently will grab a defensive rebound, get downhill quickly, and go coast to coast. Reed can also fill a lane in transition and then finish that break with a slam. The intensity and focus that he plays with is inspiring. At the Big Shots-Philly Pride tournament Reed led his Revolution team to their 16U division title and was chosen as the MVP of championship game (15 points). Reed is hearing from several mid-major programs.
88 to 53… Jalil Bethea Jalil Bethea 6'4" | SG Archbishop Wood | 2024 State #5 Nation PA – 6’4” / Archbishop Wood / Team Final EYBL / Shooting Guard: Already considered one of the automatic 3-point shooters in the region, Bethea made PIAA history in March when he splashed home 11-of-12 threes (37 points overall) in the state 6A quarterfinals. He used that state tourney momentum as a springboard for a tremendous spring grassroots season. On the spring circuit Bethea continued to shoot the 3-ball at an astonishing clip, but he also displayed the ability to score in transition and create for himself off the dribble. Bethea saved his best for the last tourney of the spring. During Nike EYBL Session III (KY), Bethea posted 13.6 ppg. on 50% shooting from deep. He registered a tourney high 25 points (4/7 on threes) in a win over The Family. During the spring circuit Bethea picked up an offer from St. Joe’s.
96 to 70… Darren Williams Darren Williams 6'4" | SG Archbishop Ryan | 2024 State PA – 6’4” / Archbishop Ryan / K-Low Elite / Combo Guard: From the season opening adidas 3SSB Live I event (IN), to the Gym Rats Live tournament (NY) in May, to the circuit ending Hoop Group Jersey Shore Jam Fest, Williams showed that he is a unique guard with a physical style of play. When you combine that physicality with his high-level dribble drive abilities, Williams can maneuver to his spots with ease. Additionally, this lefty is a 3-point threat from any spot along the arc. Of course, he can score the rock on the break too. Williams is an excellent on ball defender and will surprise opponents with his knack for blocking shots.
170 to 129… Greg Guidinger Greg Guidinger 6'6" | SF Central York | 2024 State PA – 6’7” / Central York / Philly Pride National / Shooting Guard: After the 2021-22 season this long and athletic high percentage three-point shooter was a 1st-Team All-York Area selection. Then Guidinger hit the grassroots circuit and proved his offensive skill set has taken a noticeable step forward. This spring when a defender pressed up on him, Guidinger frequently put the ball on the deck and got to his mid-range spots or all the way to the tin. When he gets into the paint, Guidinger can finish with either hand. Starting in early April with the UAA Session I (IN) Guidinger grabbed the attention of scouts and college coaches. At that event he averaged 12.6 ppg. on an impressive 40% shooting from deep. Throughout May Guidinger continued to score at all three levels, rebound the ball and exhibit great instincts for the game. At the Jersey Shore Jam Fest, he pushed Philly Pride 16s to a 3-0 record. Guidinger holds an offer from Univ. of Toledo.
