Teams have been busy playing in weekly leagues, hitting up college team camps, and playing in showcase events. However, while we have been providing wall-to-wall coverage of many scholastic events already this month, we also want to still give some shine to our Prep Hoops Circuit. In this series that will run over the next few weeks we will take a look back at our circuit, specifically in the Grit Region, to highlight the top collegiate prospects in the Prep Hoops Grit Region. First, make sure you have seen Part One and Part Two of this series for the Class of 2023.
Reis Butcher Reis Butcher 6'4" | SF Brebeuf Jesuit | 2024 State IN (Brebeuf Jesuit 2024/INB Elite 2024): Uber-athletic wing that has really made a name for himself on the Prep Hoops Circuit in the Grit Region. Starting with our tip-off event down in Louisville and throughout the spring the high-flying 6’4” prospect has proven himself as a driver off of the dribble and a versatile two-way player. Butcher has some of the best in-game dunks we have seen through the spring. Poised for a big junior season at Brebeuf Jesuit.
Braylon Isom Braylon Isom 6'1" | SG Saginaw Heritage | 2024 State MI (Saginaw Heritage H.S. 2024/DV45): Also a football prospect hailing from the state of Michigan, Isom has landed himself on a couple Grit Region All-Tournament teams recently with his athleticism and ability to attack the basket. A 6’2” guard, Isom can get to the rim off of the dribble, play through contact, and defend multiple positions with his strength in the backcourt. Should keep getting better and better as his skill continues to develop.
Jason Jakstys Jason Jakstys 6'10" | C Yorkville | 2024 State #141 Nation IL (Yorkville H.S. 2024/Basketball Paradise 2024): When you find a 6’9” to-be junior that moves as well as this prospect does you are obviously going to intrigued. Jaksysts runs the floor extremely well at his size, has solid post moves, and can protect the rim defensively. He is ranked as a Top 15 prospects in the class by Prep Hoops Illinois and his performance on the Prep Hoops Circuit with Basketball Paradise backed up that evaluation.
Mason Lewis Mason Lewis 5'9" | PG Crispus Attucks | 2024 State IN (North Central H.S. 2024/EG10 2024): One of the quickest prospects in the Prep Hoops Grit Region, this 5’10” point guard has been a catalyst for the success of EG10 throughout the spring. Lewis is an elite playmaker with the ability to score at the rim with his explosiveness while also being under control enough to make plays for his teammates. If you want a true point guard that helps you win games, Lewis should be on your list.
