Continue ReadingThe month of June has seen some very interesting matchups and some high quality performances in Michigan so far. The Compound Athletics is putting on a series of summer games in The Summer Tune Up Vol: 2. There were some intriguing matchups and quality games in Week 2 of the event. In Week 2, the games and the results were as follows:
Stevenson vs. Lake Shore
Stevenson continues to improve and it showed from Week 1 to Week 2. Stevenson defeated Lakeshore by a score of 50-28.
Cass Tech vs. Fraser
Cass Tech won the game 88-32. They continue to have their way offensively and create a ton of pressure on opposing offenses.
Stevenson vs. Rochester
Stevenson was victorious in a tight 47-43 game. This was probably the game of the night in Week 2. Some stars really began to emerge.
Players Of The Game
For each contest, The Compound Athletics named a Player Of The Game.
Mariano Manciel (2026, G, Stevenson)
Manciel sent a loud and clear message across the state of Michigan. He has an elite offensive acumen and it feels like he can go get a bucket at any time. Manciel finished with 16 points.
Derrick Miller Derrick Miller 5'11" | CG Detroit Cass Tech | 2024 State MI (2024, PG, Cass Tech)
Miller led the way in a dominating win. He finished the game with 17 points. If he can be this type of offensive threat throughout the high school season, Cass Tech’s backcourt could be borderline unstoppable.
Daron Bobbitt Daron Bobbitt 6'0" | CG Adlai E. Stevenson | 2023 State MI (2023, CG, Stevenson)
Bobbitt scored in a very efficient manner and really showed that he can help set the tone and the pace. Bobbitt is a player to keep an eye on. He had 11 points in the game.
Other Notable Performances
Darius Acuff Darius Acuff 6'2" | PG IMG | 2025 State #9 Nation FL (2025, PG, Cass Tech)
Acuff is one of the most talented guards in the state and he showed why, finishing with 15 points.
Zach Alindogan (2023, SG, Stevenson)
Alindogan was very impressive while scoring 13 points in a win.
Andrew Creson (2024, F, Lake Shore)
Creson had a team high 9 points.
Ja’Sean Dean Ja’Sean Dean SG St. Clair Shores Lake Shore | 2025 State MI (2025, G, Lake Shore)
Dean could play a key role for Lake Shore this season. He finished with 8 points.
Ahton Goul (2024, SF, Fraser)
Goul continues to show well, scoring 10 points.
Ron Johnson (2024, G, Fraser)
Johnson led his team with 11 points.
Eli Kalaj (2023, SF, Rochester)
Kalaj had yet another impressive performance, tallying 16 points in the game.
