Holt was one of strongest 2025 athletes in his age group, while also doubling down as a elite rebounder on both ends. Standing at 6’3, Holt was excellent as a weakside rim protector who worked hard to clean up scrappy rebounds down low. The wing was also attentive in fast break situations, looking to find outlets in transition more often than not. For this age group, he is a brick wall on defense, rarely being bumped out of position. Continuing to gets reps as a shooter will be especially helpful for him down the line.
Branson Ashlock – C4 Attack – Tom Bean – 2024
Ashlock is another 2024 forward who was ruthless in the paint as a defender, shot blocker, and dump off threat. Standing at 6’5, he was more than capable contesting shots around the rim without fouling. Also bringing a football background, he boasts the strength to battle straight up with strong forwards. Ashlock has excellent touch with the right hand regardless of contact, as he is not shy.
Brody Bechtold – Midwest La’Familia – Marquette Catholic – 2024
The 2024 project has a ton of length and flashed perimeter shooting off the catch. Standing right around 6’6, his slender frame aids him in his lateral mobility, allowing his versatility on the perimeter to truly shine. Although he was mainly used in a off-ball floor spacer role, watch for Bechtold’s shotmaking versatility to make improvements throughout the year.
Tavion Williams – The Factory – Bean Davis – 2025
At 6’5 or 6’6, Tavion Williams was an excellent rim runner and shot blocker for The Factory. His length deterred shots around the rim, as he must have a +3″ or greater wingspan. His active hands kept opposing forwards and guards at bay on the majority of possessions. Williams proved to be the baseline for timely rebounds, as he could reach above others while dealing with the occasional hit. Should Williams continue to improve his jump shot, which showed promise at the free throw line, we are talking about a whole different player.
Devin Brown – C4 Attack – Calera – 2024
Another shot blocking machine, Devin Brown at 6’4 is a must see forward for C4. Primarily playing out of the high post or as a roller, Brown was excellent finishing around the rim with his left hand. The lefty was capable drawing fouls when rolling hard to the rim, where he was fairly consistent from the line. Continuing to bolster those wing skills will be necessary down the road, such as attacking closeouts or using a cross to break down the defender. Without a doubt, Brown is the most athletic vertical name on this list, his potential cannot be underestimated.
Braden Petzel – Team Tyus – Mankato East – 2026
Petzel may be raw on offense, however his attentiveness around the rim cannot be mistaken. When he stays disciplined on screens, Petzel is a formidable opponent. Shot blocking is the biggest strength for Petzel, as most 15u players do not know how to handle someone with such size. There are multiple areas he can focus on, however not fouling is crucial to him getting enough playing time and reps.
