Cameron Christie Cameron Christie 6'4" | SG Rolling Meadows | 2023 State #76 Nation IL (Rolling Meadows) 6’6 2023
After this weekend Christie is definitely pushing to be the top player in the state. Cam is so versatile on both sides of the ball and his shot is smooth as butter. This kid gave me “Central Arkansas ” Scottie Pippen vibes on Sunday. Being so active on both sides of the ball at one point using his length in the passing lanes and taking off for a strong two handed slam. Christie made it worth while for the coaches who woke up extra early to see him play.
Kuba Senczyszyn (St. Pats) 6’7 2023
A new name to PHI. Kuba showed he is explosive off two feet and when he comes through the lane. The 6’7 wide frame forward made some eye popping plays in the early game. Kuba drove down the lane and took off with a one handed dunk. He rebounded the ball well and hit a shot or two. He gained the attention of some coaches which means he will be on the radar going forward.
Quentin Jones Quentin Jones 6'4" | SG Marian Catholic | 2023 State IL (Marian Catholic) 6’5
I really liked what I saw from Jones on Sunday. He started off playing some really good defense on his AAU travel teammate DeAndre Craig DeAndre Craig 5'11" | PG Mt. Carmel | 2023 State IL . Quentin was able to block a couple of shot attempts, catch the ball, and drive coast to coast and make plays. Jones has good size and is really good off the dribble. Most of his scoring was done in mid-range but off good separation shots that hit nothing but the bottom of the net. On the next play he would jab to the middle and then drove baseline and dunked the ball with authority. Quentin’s biggest attraction is that he plays both sides of the ball really well and will have a couple of schools reaching out to him.
Kros Barrett Kros Barrett 6'2" | SG Curie | 2023 State IL (Curie) 6’0 2023
Barrett did what he had to do the keel his team in a close game with Benet. Kros is an excellent shooter that needs just a little bit of space to get his shot off. In what ended up to be a loss Barrett hit 3 threes and finished with 14 points. With teammate Carlos Harris Carlos Harris 6'1" | SG Curie | 2024 State #283 Nation IL these two guards will cause some havoc in the Red Central conference.
Nikola Abusara Nikola Abusara 6'5" | SF Benet | 2023 State IL (Benet) 6’7 2023
Another player who just had a great performance all Sunday was Abusara. In the first game Niko moved well off the ball. He found the right time to score and when he was surrounded Abusara dished the ball for assists. Niko plays with a lot of energy and he has guard like handles. He gets in the lane and scores off really athletic moves. He didn’t hit many shots early but during the second game he had everything rolling. Shots were made and he even got a couple of dunks. Playing against two of the toughest CPS teams. Abusara will have extra eyes on him next weekend at Ridgewood.
Sam Lewis Sam Lewis 6'5" | SF Oak Park River Forest | 2023 State IL (Simeon) 6’4 2023
Lewis looked very comfortable at his new school Simeon this weekend. He did a great job of taking some pressure of the Rubin twins in the post. Sam can do multiple things on the court. He is nice off the dribble when getting in the lane. He can hit shots or take it all the way to the rim. When off the ball he is good in catch and shoot situations but is superb in slashing attempts where he may dunk on a defender if they’re not careful. Lewis led the Wolverines in scoring by being able to score from all three levels. His stock as a wing can rise even more as he settles into this new role with Simeon.
Jake Fiegen Jake Fiegen 6'3" | SG New Trier | 2023 State IL (New Trier) 6’3 2023
I don’t know what else I can say about the best shooter in the state. But he played really hard on Sunday afternoon and he got after it on defense as well. What I like about Jake is he can hit shots with or without his feet being set. Fiegen made a few shots coming off staggered screens that hit nothing but the bottom of the net. But most schools who are recruiting him already knows he can shoot. He showcased his defense a little bit more by getting a couple of chase down blocks that had many coaches loving the extra effort he gave. Jake is a IVY – Patriot leagues dream player and will be checking this weekend on who did their homework on him.
Damarion Wyatt Damarion Wyatt 5'8" | PG North Lawndale | 2023 IL (Northl Lawndale) 6’0 2023
Wyatt is a quick scoring guard that almost brought his team back to a win after being down by double digits most of the game. Damarion has a strong handle and is able to get to any spot he wants to on the court to score. As a smaller guard what I loved seeing was him guarding 94 feet the majority of the game and it didn’t affect his scoring much whenever he got the ball back. Wyatt will be a good leader for a solid NLCP team that has a few more attacking pieces on the squad.
Tavariyuan Williams Tavariyuan Williams 6'6" | SF De La Salle | 2024 State IL (Leo) 6’5 2024
TaVariyuan is a player who had the talent to make a difference for Leo last season but just wasn’t eligible after his transfer. Williams can do it all on the court. He is very skilled for his size. TaVariyuan is another three level scoring threat who can get his own rebound and then initiate the offense on the other end. He was a matchup nightmare for both teams he played on Sunday. As he finished both games with double figure points. If I’m a school who has the luxury to start looking into the next class Williams is one of those players you get eyes on early.
