Chris Riddle – (Kenwood) 6’5
The physically gifted wing has transferred back to Kenwood. He made some big shots in the game against East St.Louis. Riddle scored from all three levels throughout the game. Chris made big three pointer to seal the game when the Broncos double digit lead was cut to 4 points.
Macaleab Rich Macaleab Rich 6'5" | SF East St. Louis | 2023 State #261 Nation IL (East St.Louis) 6’6
It was my first time ever seeing Rich play. He is another physical looking prospect that jumps out of the gym. Macaleab is a forward who plays off two feet and is practically unstoppable when he is coming down the lane with force.
Camron Williford Camron Williford 6'0" | PG Hyde Park | 2023 State IL (Hyde Park) 6’0
Williford is the latest lead guard for Hyde Park to run the show. He played well on dribble drive action getting to the rim for layups or stopping in the lane for mid-range shots. Camron is a willing passer that seems to be ready lead the program.
Mekhi Cooper Mekhi Cooper 6'0" | PG Bolingbrook | 2023 State IL (Bolingbrook) 6’1
Cooper was in a guards duel where he showcased his shooting range and ability to hit teammates when he’s gets in trouble. Mekhi can get out of any issue when he has the ball in his hands. He split double teams and traps with slick moves and found his teammates for open shots. He picked up a few more offers in the process.
Jordan Pickett Jordan Pickett 6'1" | SG Belleville East | 2023 State IL (Belleville East) 6’3
Got an even better evaluation of Pickett in the matchup against Cooper and Bolingbrook. Jordan is a slick guard who likes to get downhill and finish with an array of moves. He didn’t hit many shots but he didn’t need to because he was scoring at the rim at will. Pickett can finish with either hand and seems to seek contact when attacking. He also picked up an offer on Sat.
Drew Scharnowski Drew Scharnowski 6'7" | PF Burlington Central | 2023 State IL (Burlington Central) 6’8
The player who maybe got the biggest buzz in the gym on Saturday was this power forward. Drew had a really good game against St. Ignatius. The big man seem to control the paint on both ends and also showcased his defense by switching on to a wing. Scharnowski rebounded well and scores around the rim. He showed good timing on the boards and used his length to block shots. He picked up an offer and will assume more will be on the way.
Arius Alijosius Arius Alijosius 6'2" | SG Amos Alonzo Stagg | 2023 State IL (Riverside Brookfield) 6’3
Alijosius is a lefty shooter that seems to be in range as soon as he crosses half court. Arius shot the ball well against Brother Rice. He gets the shot off very fluid like. He has placed himself in the conversation of top shooters in the state.
Sam Lewis Sam Lewis 6'5" | SF Oak Park River Forest | 2023 State IL (Simeon) 6’4
Sam made his debut with Simeon in spectacular fashion. In the two games Lewis got a couple dunks and showed he can score from basically anywhere on the court. He seemed to be locked in on defense as he swiped a few steals in the process. With the move to Simeon Sam doesn’t have to shoulder a large part of the offensive load and he won’t be the main focus of defenses every game.
Matthew Moore Matthew Moore 6'7" | PF Hillcrest | 2023 State IL (Hillcrest) 6’7
Moore is a pogo stick forward that plays above the rim. He is a lob catcher and rim protector. Matthew plays hard on boths ends and is showing improvements in his overall game. He showed that he is able to hit a jumper or two. Once that post game evolves, he will be even more dangerous prospect.
