The Riverside Brookfield Shootout tipped off on Friday. With a handful teams playing games on Friday I picked the top five players from the day’s games. 

 

Cameron Christie Cameron Christie 6'4" | SG Rolling Meadows | 2023 State #124 Nation IL (Rolling Meadows) 2023

Maybe the smoothest scorer in the gym. Christie just didn’t seem to miss many shots. He was able to score from all three levels throughout the day no matter what the defense through at him. Cam is very thin but is able to maneuver through traffic and hit various shots off the dribble. Christie finished with 33 points in the first contest against Bloom. 

 

Mekhi Lowery Mekhi Lowery 6'5" | SF Oswego East | 2023 State IL (Oswego East) 2023

Mekhi caught the eyes of many coaches mainly because of his size, length, and the ability to play guard or forward positions.  Lowery is considered to be a swiss army knife. There is not much he can’t do when on the court. Offensively he can make plays for himself and others he gets in the lane and scores easily around defenders.  On defense his length bothers ballhandlers constantly and when teams try to score around the rim Lowery is an exceptional shoot blocker.  He walked away with an offer from NIU on Friday just the
