6’5 W Malachi Spencer || Weber High School || 2024 ||
One of the hardest things to expect as a coach from a young player with some size at an early age is footwork. Malachi has some good footwork for a kid his size. His footwork allows him to finish in open gaps around the rim using his agility. Malachi has a quick first step and he has a nice mid-range feel that can open up more aspects to his game. He is still a bit high on his catch and rip moves but when he gets low those mid-range pull-ups will turn into dunks. Good patience on defense as he holds his ground and stays on his feet. Really liking the upside of this young prospect. Stay tuned this kid has game. Currently playing with Kongo Elite.
6’2 PG Jordan Ross Jordan Ross 6'3" | PG Pleasant Grove | 2023 UT || Pleasant Grove High School ||
Guess he’s back and he is going to be fun to watch and he really changes the dynamics over at Pleasant Grove because Jordan is a true PG that is a stat stuffer with his ability to do everything. Jordan is going to be on triple-double watch because he just gets after it. After a year away at Link in Missouri Jordan looks to take his game and his team to the next level and that is a state championship. The smooth lefty is trouble as he is shifty and quick and as a pass first PG it is hard to help on him but if you don’t help he will get to the cup with ease. We will get our first glance at his game at Section 7.
6’0 PG Heath Christiansen Heath Christiansen 6'2" | CG Cedar Valley | 2024 State UT || Cedar Valley || 2024 ||
Heath is a knockdown shooter and if he has time he will make you pay but he does have a good handle and plays with speed and quickness. Impressive relocation ability as he is looking to get to his spots. He will be a stock rising player to watch in the class of 2024. He plays with Utah Hype on the AAU side of hoops.
5’11 PG Chance Dastrup Chance Dastrup 5'10" | PG Orem | 2025 State UT || Orem High School || 2025 ||
Chance has improved his game over the last year and the thing that he is really good at is shooting and his foundation there is making the rest of his game pop as well. Chance gets his shots off quickly and he is ready to let it go when he is open. He is sought out by his teammates. Chance has a quick first step and it is allowing him to get into the lanes to get to the rim. He is also getting in the lanes with his vision up looking for players cutting or open in the perimeter. Will be a constant player at the varsity level next year.
6’9 C Brayden Whitehead Brayden Whitehead 6'10" | C Bingham | 2023 State UT || Bingham High School || 2023 ||
Intriguing prospect that has some work to do on the offensive end of the ball. Defensively he is solid and he can rebound, defend and block shots but he is still developing confidence and any sort of game on the blocks. This summer he really needs to get it going as he does get good position but he needs to work on finishing .He will be a project at the next level.
