Who are the top prospects?
Bigs have been a topic of discussion in the 2024 class and Tyler McKinley Tyler McKinley 6'9" | PF Winton Woods | 2024 State #78 Nation OH , Raleigh Burgess Raleigh Burgess 6'10" | C Sycamore | 2024 State #130 Nation OH and Jesse McCulloch Jesse McCulloch 6'9" | PF Lutheran East | 2024 State #136 Nation OH are three of the top four ranked prospects in this class. McKinley was a killer at EYBL session two, leading the 16 U age group in scoring. I believe McKinley is a top 50 prospect nationally and one of the top prospects in Ohio regardless of class. Burgess and McCulloch both play with Indiana based shoe circuit squads, Burgess with Indiana Elite and McCulloch with Indy Heat. Burgess has shown his expanded range from downtown and McCulloch is continuing to change his body, looking skinnier than ever.
Who is transferring high schools?
Jonathan Powell Jonathan Powell 6'5" | SG Centerville | 2024 State #164 Nation OH is the biggest name moving high schools within Ohio, Powell joins Gabe Cupps Gabe Cupps 6'1" | PG Centerville | 2023 State #80 Nation OH at Centerville. Duncan Moy Duncan Moy 6'4" | SG Joseph Badger | 2024 State OH and Braylin Wells Braylin Wells 6'7" | C Pickerington Central | 2024 State OH are both returning to their freshman year high schools as well. There are also numerous guards rumored to be transferring schools, but those rumors will be sniffed out in June events.
Who is moving into Ohio?
Jackson Washington and Reece Robinson are both moving to Ohio after their dads took college coaching jobs in the state. Washington’s dad is a women’s assistant coach at the University of Dayton and Robinson’s dad is the new Cleveland State men’s head coach. Both prospects are expected to be Division I recruits when it’s all said and done.
Who else is breaking out?
Mason Shrout Mason Shrout 6'4" | SF Preble Shawnee | 2024 State OH had a huge EYBL session I in Orlando and continued his solid scoring production all spring. Shrout is one of the top small school scorers in the state and proving his talents against some of the best in the country. Jesse Burris Jesse Burris 6'4" | SF Delaware Hayes | 2024 State #297 Nation OH is continuing to show why he’s one of the top wings in the state, playing for a Mid Ohio Pumas Gold squad that’s 8-0 in Adidas Gold play and have qualified for the 3SSB tournament. Finally, guards Ja’Corey Lipkins Ja’Corey Lipkins 6'1" | CG GlenOak | 2024 State OH and Ace Buckner Ace Buckner 6'1" | PG La Lumiere | 2024 #195 Nation IN have both had impressive springs. Both prospects already have Division I offers and Lipkins is one of the youngest 2024 prospects in the state.
