The tournament is structured as a regional tournament with 2A-3A-4A seniors coming together to form teams from the North, South, East and West. On Friday evening the North took on the South at Bushnell. Here are the standouts from game 1:
North
Mathias Billings (De La Salle North 2022)
Billings was a beast on the boards for the North team as well as the leading scorer with 19. He showed a really nice stroke from the free throw line going 6 for 6. The 6’6″ wing is smooth and has a devastating step back. He will be continuing his education at HBCU Fayetteville State University next year.
Cash Corder (Seaside 2022)
The 6’8″ forward filled up the state sheet with a 15 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Corder flashed some real athletic potential on a nice dunk. He also stretched the floor for the North squad and knocked down a couple of triples. Corder will be joining Daniel Leeworthy’s NWAC power Umpqua Riverhawks basketball team next year.
Kamir Hodge (Westside Christian 2022)
Hodge was all over the floor for the North team. He provided a physical presence against the South guards. Hodge will be continuing his education and basketball career next year at HBCU Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.
Logan Morrill (Knappa 2022)
The 6’9″ big from Knappa controlled the middle for the North team. He showed some nifty footwork on the block. He finished with a double double of 15 points and 15 rebounds. Morrill will play next year for Shanan Rosenberg at Linfield University.
Everest Sibony (Seaside 2022)
The guard from perennial 4A power Seaside was electric in the first game of the evening. To go along with 18 points, he grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. His two most impressive plays were kick ahead assists to teammates streaking down the floor for momentum shifting dunks.
Jaymeson Ye (Westside Christian 2022)
Ye finished the game with 16 and had a smooth euro step in traffic. He showed a good stroke from deep and had a nice around the back pass. Ye will be continuing his education next year at Tacoma Communty College.
South
Mason Ainsworth (Marshfield 2022)
Ainsworth poured in 16 points and hit 3 from deep to keep his squad in the game in the first half. He is shifty and can get to the rim and finish with ease. Ainsworth will be continuing his basketball career at Eastern Oregon University.
Pierce Davidson (Marshfield 2022)
The 6’7″ wing for the South squad was the most impactful player for his team. He did a great job of using his athleticism to roam on defense and protect the rim. Davidson also showed a quick release and hit a couple from deep. Davidson will be continuing his basketball career at Eastern Oregon University.
Pablo Macias (Klamath Union 2022)
The lightning quick guard was able to get to his spots in the mid range using a tight handle. He finished with 13 points for the South team.
