Jerry Freeman (5’9 2024 PG, Minnesota Heat Fleury)- Freeman’s ball skills are exceptional and his vision is elite. He’s an excellent playmaker and is constantly delivering some top-notch dimes, he does a great job of getting his teammates involved and hitting the open man. Around the rim, he’s a fantastic finisher and he uses great body control to help him around or through bigger defenders. He’s a good scorer and can create his own shot, he’s a gritty defender who gets many steals, and most importantly, Freeman plays very hard.
D.J. Smith (6’3 2024 G, The Next Level Basketball Academy)- Smith is unstoppable around the rim. He’s a force when attacking the paint and can use both hands well. He’s a great rebounder for his size and a top-notch athlete. He likes to run in transition, he’s a three-level scorer, and he has great footwork and guards multiple positions well. He’s a great leader for his team. Smith is an extremely polished player who can do a bit of everything.
Landon Riebel Landon Riebel 6'3" | SG STMA | 2024 State MN (6’3 2024 W, Minnesota Rush)- Riebel is a taller wing player who can really light the nets on fire. Using his height, he’s able to shoot over defenders. He shoots it with good mechanics and good rhythm and his shot is fast. His game isn’t limited to scoring; he rebounds well for his size and plays an unselfish brand of basketball. Riebel is good around the rim too.
Javont Froiland (5’10 2024 G, Minnesota Nice)- Froiland keeps the ball on a string and appears very comfortable as a lead ball-handler, especially in big moments. His MN Nice team won the 16U Gold Bracket Championship and during that game, he displayed a level of poise well beyond his years. It was a wire-to-wire game from start to finish. He was confident with the ball, taking it to the basket, finishing on his own, or setting up the open man. Froiland is a sneaky defender and a smart player on both ends of the floor.
Dwayne Bryant Dwayne Bryant 5'10" | PG Mankato East | 2024 State MN (5’9 2024 G, Minnesota Nice)- Bryant also shined in his squad’s Championship victory. Like his backcourt partner, Froiland, he did a good job of handling the pressure. Facing a 2-3 trapping defense that extended to mid-court, Bryant, Froiland, and co. zipped the ball around the court and beat the zone from the inside out while getting everyone touches. Bryant is a super crafty player and excels when attacking the paint. He’s elusive around the rim and can finish with either hand.
Jackson Hettwer (6’2 2024 W, Minnesota Heat Fleury)- Hettwer hit some very clutch buckets late in an overtime game on Sunday. He shoots it with great form and confidence. He’s a good scorer and can create his own shot or beat you from the catch-and-shoot situation. Hettwer is a three-level scorer, he moves his feet well and keeps a tight handle for someone who isn’t a lead guard.
