Camron Henderson (5’9 2024 G, NESYB Hoops)- Henderson is the ultimate scorer with a bag full of tricks. He’s good at the catch-and-shoot, he can pull it from anywhere, scores in the lane, his floater is solid, and he creates his own shot. You name and he’s got it. He has a tight handle, too. Henderson loves to run on the break and does a good job of playing with his head up.
Deb Lumpkin (5’8 2025 PG, NESYB Hoops)- Lumpkin is in the class of 2025 playing up in the 16U division and he was one of the shiftiest and most confident players I saw all weekend. This kid’s handles are unreal. He does an excellent job of setting up his teammates; when he finds himself in the lane, he delivers on beautiful pocket passes. He shoots the three well and can create his own shot. Lumpkin is an elite ball-handler and playmaker.
Duwayne Mitchell (5’10 2024 G, The Next Level Basketball Academy)- Mitchell uses patience and ball-fakes to help him succeed as a lead guard. He’s good with both hands and is very crafty when attacking the basket. He plays incredibly hard and is extremely active on D, constantly searching for steals. Mitchell plays a smart brand of basketball, too.
Justin Courneya Justin Courneya 6'1" | PG Win-E-Mac | 2024 State MN (6’0 2024 G, West Central United)- In a hard-fought, gritty game, Courneya proved he can handle the pressure with the ball in his hands. He’s a good scorer that shoots the three-ball. Defensively, he’s a pest and applies heavy and constant pressure to opposing ball-handlers with the goal of poking the ball loose and running in transition. He turned defense into offense a few times on Saturday. Courneya is a fierce competitor.
Bryson Buggs Bryson Buggs 5'11" | PG Fridley Highschool | 2024 State MN (6’0 2024 G, Minnesota Heat Buggs)- In a wire-to-wire finish on Saturday night, Buggs proved that he’s comfortable in the big moments. He is a very poised player who beats defenses from the inside out. He’s a good facilitator and is one of his team’s primary ball-handlers. Buggs also plays well away from the ball and is a good cutter.
Dalton Spindler (6’2 2024 W, Northern Lakers)- Spindler can flat out shoot it. He plays with good pace and scores in a variety of ways. His range is extended and this long-range shooting was on full display on Saturday. His jumper is super smooth and using his height, he’s able to shoot over the top of defenders. His elevation and high release give him an advantage as a shooter. Spindler is a smart player and uses his height very well.
