Fletcher is one of the more unique 6’5+ guys in the state, due to his rare blend passing IQ and perimeter skills. Likely taking a large role as the primary ballhandler for Littleton next season, Fletcher should turn heads. There are not many Colorado forwards who can shoot, playmake, and create scoring opportunities off the dribble. The most unique aspect of Fletcher’s game is that he can be deployed in a variety of roles. He can thrown off-ball and ran off screens or deployed as a high post passer. You can run him on-ball as a big pick and roll ballhandler or a post up threat. Continuing to work on his ballhandling in traffic will be especially important for reaching his offensive ceiling, as it is still a little high.
Carson McDonald Carson McDonald 6'8" | PF Vista PEAK Prep | 2024 NLG – George Washington – Hawks
Standing tall at 6’7, McDonald is a defense first forward who makes the most of his length to deter shots both on the perimeter and interior. The wing has been continuing to improve his perimeter usage, specifically bringing up the ball from inbounds and taking a few threes per game. As an off-ball scorer, McDonald does well converting put backs and dump off passes around the basket. Driving with the right hand, he is capable getting downhill and using his size to see over the defense for the easy dump off read. He continues to show an emphasis on attempting floaters along with catch and shoot threes, both areas that could significantly expand his offensive toolbox.
Amari Chandler Amari Chandler 6'4" | SF Cherokee Trail | 2024 State CO – Cherokee Trail – Hawks
A steady interior presence going both ways, Chandler is one of the more physically imposing 5A wings at 6’4. The bulky, multipositional defender plays to his strengths (literally) as an assertive rebounder and scorer around the rim. He is dependable doing the dirty work around the glass, along with his plus wingspan making him to be a tough matchup. Chandler has great touch with the right hand, showcasing a short floater and confidence scoring off the glass. Continuing to refine his ballhandling and shooting range should maximize his abilities as a high efficiency, slashing wing.
Nicholas Buchenau – Kent Denver – Chaos
Another physically strong interior presence, the 6’3 Buchenau was influential grabbing a steady dose of rebounds all while allowing no easy buckets inside. Physicality is Buchenau’s calling card, embracing contact no matter who attempts to get a bucket. Simply put, the wing understands his role and embraces the dirty work.
Emilek Jallow – Bear Creek – Colorado Skills
At 6’4, Jallow is a quickly rising athletic forward whose continual athletic ascent and efficient skillset should catch eyes for division two programs going into the high school season. Typically deployed as a play finisher and straight line driver, Jallow’s vertical pop off either one or two feet makes him a tough athlete to contest. Jallow is without a doubt most effective on the break, especially due to his quick acceleration in a straight line. Although a little undersized versus bigger forwards, Jallow is capable leaping with the best the state has to offer. Continuing to emphasize his jump shot off the catch will be essential to reaching his offensive potential.
