Hosted by Lakeshow one of the top grassroots programs in NorCal. PH was in the gym on day 1 only. There were plenty of standouts on the day. Here’s who we thought played well while we were there.
Luke Winn 6’5 2024 F of Castro Valley HS. Lakeshow 16 Cameron.
A long slender prospect who’s a solid contributor at this level. He’s most effective working around the basket. He’s a good jumper who works well in the paint going after rebounds, and blocks going straight up. He did okay defending in the post, and can guard on the perimeter as well. He’s a good court runner with good hands, and is ready for dump offs in the paint.
John Tofi John Tofi 6'4" | SF Archbishop Riordan | 2025 State CA-N Jr. 6’5 2025 SG of Sheldon HS. Oakland Soldiers 15 EYBL.
As a young, and still growing prospect, he’s still developing his skill set. At this event he looked good spotting up for catch 3’s in the corner, and coming down the court in rhythm looking to get up a 3 in transition. We won’t label him a shooter just yet, he did have some success trying to get to the basket off his dribble. We’ll Keep an eye on him.
Luke Isaaks 6’0 2024 SG of San Ramon Valley HS. Lakeshow 15 Boyd.
Isaacks, a player that looks for his shot. He has good range on the perimeter, he knocked down a couple of catch 3’s in the corner, used his ball fake and one dribble to free himself up for open look jumpers. His ball handling is solid as well as his passing. He had some success getting into the paint off the dribble, and playing through contact. He’s on the Watch List.
Ayden Schumacher 6’4 2025 W/F of Jesuit HS. Rose City 2025 Elite.
A solid young prospect still learning the game. He played with good effort, worked well in the paint on both ends going for rebounds. At 6’4 he seems to have a bit of an inside/out game. He scored inside with good foot work, he had some success with the drop step, and his jump hook was working for him. He took care of the ball, passed well, and had a couple of nice strong drives to the basket on the perimeter.
Jiro Basabas 5’8 2024 PG of Damonte Ranch HS, Reno, Nev. Rose City 16.
A slick handling guard who’s fast and crafty in the way he gets things done on the court. He was quite effective in transition, and finishing at the basket, using off hands, opposite foot to keep the big man guessing in the paint. He’s a quality passer with the vision to spot open teammates.
Luke Hyatt 6’7 2023 F/PF of Rocklin HS. Rose City Ballers 17u Select.
A long prospect pretty good around the basket, tries to dunk when he’s up there. He’s long, with a good reach to go after rebounds, and to defend in the post. He’s on the thin side but is productive around the basket, he has a paint jumper, he’ll get tip ins. He’s an excellent court runner who will throw it down if there’s a clear path. He’s on Wright’s Watch List.
Garret Dutro Garret Dutro 6'6" | SF Placer | 2023 State CA-N 6’6 2023 Guard of Placer HS Rose City Ballers 17
We saw Dutro early at the beginning of the Spring. He’s coming along nicely, a versatile player standing 6’6 listed as a guard, he does have some guard qualities about his game. He handles and passes well in transition, and along the perimeter. He’s a confident shooter, who can be aggressive looking for his shot off the ball. He has good form and range to hit 3’s, and mid range jumpers. He’s long and moves well on the court. He’s on the Wright’s Watch List.
