The event featured many talented players who operate under the radar. Here is a look at some New Names of players who put in work during the showcase.
Tyrell Walker Jr. (Maplewood): An athletic 6’3 guard with a high motor and could impact the game at both ends of the court. He scored on several nice takes to the basket and he could raise up and hit the 3-pointer off the bounce. He rebounded the ball well and he is a versatile defender.
Bleu Renfrow (Liberty North): A 6’3 2025 guard who was a very resourceful offensive player who averaged 17 points in the two games I watched him. He was hitting 3-pointers on the perimeter and posting up smaller guards to take advantage of mismatches. He also played well without the ball as he made good reads to get himself open to score.
Kayleb Jefferson (Van Horn): A 6’5 2023 forward who is physically strong and played a very active game throughout the camp. He had solid post moves with the ability to score with both hands around the basket. He could also drive the ball and he had a nice shooting touch in the lane, including a fall away jumper. I really liked how he rebounded out of his area.
Vojin Vukovic (St Paul Lutheran): A 6’5 2023 forward who is strong with a versatile offensive game. He had some solid takes to the basket as he could go left or right to score on the drive. His footwork was very good in the post as he had the jump hook and up and under move. He also stepped out and hit the :-pointer off the catch.
Shane Conner Shane Conner 6'1" | SG Rockwood Summit | 2023 State MO (Rockwood Summit): The 6’1” 2023 guard lit it up from downtown in the one game I saw him in which he scored 27 points. He drained a flurry of five 3-pointers with most of them coming from the same spot on the left wing. He also scored on some nice drives and made a few nifty passes.
Josiah Griffith (Hickman): A 5’11” 2024 guard who displayed a very confident shooting stroke in the game I saw him. He knocked down four 3-pointers and the shooting form looked very smooth. He also displayed a nice mid range jumper off the dribble.
Gene Hawkins (Normandy): A solidly built 6’5 2023 forward who looked better the more I saw him over the course of a game. At first, he was rebounding and picking up loose change around the basket. Then, he hit a 15-footer in the lane off the dribble. Later in the game, he knocked down a 3-pointer off the catch.
