The lead guard had a very productive weekend leading his team to a Elite 8 appearance in the 16U Battlezone. Despite having defenses geared towards him he still managed to average close to 20 for the weekend while also keeping his teammates involved.
Zach Anderson Zach Anderson 6'3" | SG Desert Mountain | 2023 State AZ Desert Mountain (Firestorm Elite 17U)
The Desert Mountain guard played tough defense the entire weekend and knocked down timely 3’s. His defense has been his biggest improvement during the spring.
Styles Phipps Styles Phipps 6'1" | PG St Mary's | 2024 State #182 Nation AZ St. Mary’s (Belmont Shore 17U)
The St Mary’s guard ran the show and showcased his arsenal of offensive moves. He displayed good passing skills as well. He’s as crafty as any guard on the West Coast when it comes to getting his shot off.
Kevin Patton Jr Kevin Patton Jr 6'8" | SF Mountain Pointe | 2023 #130 Nation CA-S Maricopa (Dreamvision 17U) (Featured Image)
A long wing used his wingspan and activity to lead his team to the 17U Battlezone title. His offense is always talked about but his disruptiveness on defense is what stood out to me. He seemed to be all over the place on the defensive end with deflections, steals, and blocks.
Bryce Ford Bryce Ford 6'2" | CG Pinnacle | 2023 State AZ Pinnacle (Factory 17U)
The lead guard showed his toughness this weekend to go along with his marksmanship. Game in and game out he also displayed a steady floor game.
Jordan Parrish PF 6’2 2025 Kellis (Team Zona 15U)
As a undersized post player he knows how to use his body well and showed a good touch around the basket. He also rebounded well.
Rider Portela CG 6’2 2026 Sunnyslope (Compton Magic Select 15U)
The soon to be freshman has a calm about him. He lets his offense come to him and rarely forces anything. He finished his weekend off with a poster dunk that went viral locally. Should be an exciting high school career for this young man.
