The two-day event filled the gym with high upside wings, guards that control the show, and several big man prospects that will only get better with reps. Here’s the first part of a three-part breakdown featuring standouts from the 16 teams I followed.
Suncoast proves to be a scrappy bunch that will shoot and defend while their stars make plays. Without Stone Bureau Stone Bureau 6'0" | PG Calvary Christian Academy, Ft. Lauderdale | 2024 State FL and Ian Smickle, it was the Jeremiah Police Jeremiah Police 6'4" | SF Suncoast | 2024 State FL show. The 6’4 showcased next-level athleticism, a consistent catch, and shoot jumper, and the ability to attack defenders, especially when going left. His length helps him on the defensive end. Police may not post big numbers with his star-studded cast of teammates, but he certainly has the talent to compete at higher levels.
St. John Paul II
Kyle Edison looks ready to improve on a second team all state selection. With that level of accomplishment and a growing list of low D1 and D2 programs offering him scholarships, it’s hard to say he’s on the verge of a breakout. He’s an athletic 6’3 guard that can get in the paint when he wants thanks to a bag of crafty moves. Edison flashed three-level scoring and fundamentals through three games. While scoring seems to be his first option at this level, he shows a good IQ for making plays for others.
Teammate Brian White is a great Robin. The combo guard scores well off ball, especially off catch and shoot opportunities. He can create his own offense with his mid-range pull up jumper. White is a solid secondary playmaker that can penetrate and kick against a set defense.
North Broward Prep
After losing four of their top five scorers, North Broward Prep will look for new offensive blood. 6’1 guard Myles Samuels may be one of those guys thanks to his shooting. The 2023 prospect rattled off three threes while showcasing his ability to run to spots. He looks to have enough size on his frame to hold his own on defense, but we’ll see how it holds up throughout the season.
Park Vista
Carlos Perez jumped out to me with strong drives to the basket and solid positional defense. Perez has a knack for getting to his spots and using his strength to get past defenders out of isolation. He has a consistent mid-range jumper and isn’t afraid to use his body to make defensive plays. The 2023 guard scores in transition, is vocal on the court and makes plays for others with his passing.
His 6’6 running mate Kelton Ware has the tools to round out into a good prospect. He’s confident in his athleticism, makes plays in transition, and scores off the ball thanks to his cutting.
Gyterson Louissaint Gyterson Louissaint 6'7" | PF Olympic Heights | 2023 FL is mobile 6’7 load in the paint. His agility and wide frame have earned him an offer from St. Elizabeth University. Good footwork and soft hands helped him score against similar size players throughout the weekend. He runs the floor well for someone his size.
6’6 shooter Andrew Signorelli showcased the talent that’s made him a consistent performer on the Prep Hoops Circuit. The 2024 prospect scored with his jumper knocking down a pair of threes off the catch and knocked down a long two out of pick and roll. Signorelli finished through contact on the break and made a reverse layup in the halfcourt. Thanks to his size and strength at this level, he’s a solid offensive rebounder.
Jack Chamberlain is a 6’6 forward that has the handle and footwork to blow by other 4s. He had several drives to the basket that led to fluid finishes through contact. He isn’t afraid to push the ball in transition or rebound both ends.
Westwood
Jayden Rosario is a crafty 2024 guard that scored with his handle. He plays with pace, knocks down the corner three, and creates for his teammates. He doesn’t force plays, but his quickness allows him to take advantage of what’s in front of him.
