So many great storylines and prospects ready to take leaps or solidify roles within their schools, let’s highlight some of the 2024 class who will be stepping into new roles or looking to grow previous ones this June!
Logan Garner Logan Garner 5'10" | PG El Dorado | 2024 State KS , 5’10 PG, El Dorado (Pictured): The savvy point guard had a really strong spring with the Wichita Padres and has the tools to be the leader in the back court for a solid El Dorado program. Garner has a quick handle, changes direction with pace, and is crafty off the bounce. Garner has a great presence from the point guard spot and has great court vision with the willingness to make plays for his teammates. Garner is a good playmaker off screens and reads the floor well.
Dallas Metzger Dallas Metzger 6'3" | SF Derby | 2024 State KS , 6’2 G, Derby: Saw his role increase towards the end of last season and put together a solid spring with Team Dream 2024. The lefty shot maker is poised for a solid June and an increase in roles for what should be a really talented Derby team. The lefty has solid size, steps into the 3 ball with confidence, shoots it at a really good clip, and get string together mini runs scoring the ball. Can mix it up some and post up smaller matchups with a nice turn around jumper and is a good offensive rebounder for stick backs.
Wyatt Lewis Wyatt Lewis 6'2" | CG Aquinas | 2024 State KS , 6’2 G, St Thomas Aquinas: Lewis is a guard with a great all around skill set and poised to increase his impact on a young and talented Aquinas team. With some key departures for Aquinas this season, Lewis has the talent and versatility to fill multiple roles. Can guard multiple positions, is athletic and can attack from the wing, can handle some point duties, and can knock down open shots. Lewis is a big time competitor who loves to be in the gm getting better, June should be a massive month for him.
Andrell Burton Andrell Burton 6'4" | SG Campus | 2024 State #213 Nation KS , 6’5 W, Campus: The long and athletic wing will be primed for a huge summer after coming back to help spark Campus’s season last year and dominating in the spring. Burton’s length, versatility as a defender, and athletic explosiveness make him a top prospect in this class and this June run with Campus with Burton helping lead the charge should set them up for a really competitive year next high school season. Burton can protect the rim, guard on the ball against dynamic guards, one of the best runners in transition around, and is a gifted scorer in transition.
Micah Deaver Micah Deaver 6'1" | CG Olathe East | 2024 State KS , 6’1 PG, Olathe East: An athletic playmaking point guard who made an immediate impact for a young and hungry Olathe East team. Great with the ball in his hand being aggressive and creating off the dribble for himself and his teammates, Deaver had a really solid April and May and will continue to develop as the lead point guard for Olathe East. Deaver continues to improve his shot making from the perimeter.
Deven Butler Deven Butler 6'3" | SF Victory Rock Prep | 2024 KS , 6’3 W, Maize South: A do it all glue guy for a Maize South team with a ton of young talent who made a run last year and should be poised to go further. Butler gives you a ton from the wing spot, knocking down kick out threes, running wide and catching in transition for layups, can rebound it at a high level, pushes the break himself, and can guard multiple positions. Butler has some really long arms and great anticipation on the defensive end of the floor. Butler’s wing presence and another year playing a big role will show up big in June.
Ethan Koehn Ethan Koehn 6'2" | SF Circle | 2024 State KS , 6’1 G, Circle: A guard that had a pretty spring and should see an expanded role with his high school club starting in June. Koen is a guy who will make the non stat plays like taking charges, block out, the hockey assist, or rotate out to a shooter. Koen also has some really solid court vision and is a gifted passer especially off the dribble and hitting cutters. Koen is a versatile guard who will be able to plug in with Circle in a variety of spots.
