The JV portion kicked off on Monday, with 8 teams participating in Pool Play. The Bracket portion kicks off Today. In this article, we take a look at some of the standout players from Pool Play.
Amare Oba Amare Oba 6'6" | SF Moravian Prep | 2026 State NC 6’3 SF Liberty 2026 – Oba came to my middle school camp last fall and it was great to check in on his improvement. Despite being one of the tallest players on the court he showed some ball skills. Oba was at his best attacking downhill, however he has a solid face up game allowing him to knock down mid range jumpers.
Calvin Moore 6’1 SF Spring Valley 2024 – Moore has one of the better bodies for the event. He moves fluidly and was willing to run the floor. He used a soft touch to score most of his buckets around the rim.
Brody Holloway 5’6 PG Bonanza 2024 – Holloway was one of the top two way defenders at the event. He used active hands to get a ton of thefts on the defensive end. On the offensive end, he was one of the best distributors I saw, making accurate passes off the dribble.
Jesse Judkins Jesse Judkins 5'9" Shadow Ridge | 2025 State NV 5’9 PG Cimarron 2025 (featured image) – Judkins has used the tournament as a platform to show out. He’s got big time wiggle, that looks like it translates to the Varsity level. His shotmaking has been magnificent, as the guards ability to seperate and shoot has been at a high level on both days. He’s the only player that has jumped off film, and in person during the event.
Tajir Broxie 6’5 PF Clark 2027 – Early candidate for top 10 in my class of 2027 rankings. Broxie is a big time rebounder, with the ability to get them both in traffic and out of area. He was active on the day, getting his hands on a lot of basketballs that came of the glass. The 7th grader showed good feet, and the ability to score turning over his left shoulder.
Rylan Hearns 6’2 SG Faith Lutheran 2026 – Hearns is a good looking young prospect who manages to find buckets around the rim as well as off dribble drives to the cup. He has good size and has also showed good form shooting the ball out to about 18 feet.
Geremiah Rone Geremiah Rone 6'0" | PG Cimarron | 2025 State NV 6’1 SF Cimarron 2025 – Rone was a key piece to the Cimarron JV last season, and I have gotten a chance to see a little of him on my circuit. His skill set is finishing in transition and manufacturing buckets, both checked out this week. Rone also added some shooting, knocking down multiple threes in the game I saw.
