Prepping to watch a lot of games on Day 3 and here are a few teams and matchups that will likely feature some solid prospects returning and some new players coming up.

Viewmont vs. Crimson Cliffs

Crimson Cliffs has some dudes that will finally get a chance to run full-time. Really like their youngster Trevon Taylor who has some solid skills. He could be one of those quick stock rising kids in the Class of 2025. [player_tooltip player_id="935894" first="Phoenix" last="McWillis"] is nice and [player_tooltip player_id="934033" first="Houston" last="Johnsen"] is a solid hybrid big as well. [player_tooltip player_id="1207000" first="Zach" last="Robinson"] and Zach Noel are tough and they will give Crimson Cliffs everything they can handle. Two teams that can emerge with solid overall play.

Herriman vs. Judge Memorial

Two teams with some young talent and they will have an opportunity to get up and down the floor. [player_tooltip player_id="1115963" first="Ike" last="Palmer"] has been great this spring. Ike really lets it fly from deep but at times he uses his body to get in and make some tough buckets near the paint. [player_tooltip player_id="1384539" first="Malcom" last="Johnson"] has a really nice overall game inside and out. [player_tooltip player_id="1369726" first="Cale" last="Barclay"] can really stretch the floor with his shooting. Richard Dut has also improved his game as well. [player_tooltip player_id="1115995" first="Anywan" last="Kuang"] has been a promising wing that still has a ton of room to improve on but is good already. [player_tooltip player_id="1115998" first="Aayden" last="Saucedo"] can score the ball against anyone. This should be a good game.

Dixie vs Alta

This matchup features two of the top Class of 2024 players in the state in [player_tooltip player_id="1298532" first="Jaxon" last="Johnson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1185179" first="Kyle" last="Lemke"], both have vastly different games as well. Lemke is a product of a good scheme and a fluid offense as he runs the floor and gets a lot of opportunities near the rim on dump downs and a few post ups. Jaxon is more of a stretch big that can spread the floor with elite shooting. One will try and pull you out of the lane and the other will try and keep you near the rim and get you to help off and then he can pounce. Dixie has a lot of guards that can hurt any team in any classification. [player_tooltip player_id="1146670" first="John" last="Southwick"] is starting to come on strong. He could really be the difference maker for Dixie as they prep to make a run at a state championship now.

Cedar Valley vs. Maple Mountain

Cedar Valley is one of those schools who’s enrollment is bursting out of the seams. This influx in enrollment can be good for basketball as more talent moves in. One talented youngster on the roster is [player_tooltip player_id="1164726" first="Jax" last="Allen"]. Jax is a must watch player who has a lot of promise. [player_tooltip player_id="1116094" first="Cole" last="Roberts"] is a solid player to watch for Cedar Valley. Maple Mountain is in a rebuild year and they will depend on Bennett Averett. One thing for sure is that they all play hard.

Snow Canyon vs. Hillcrest (ID)

This is one of my favorite matchups in the entire showcase as two defending state champs go head to head. [player_tooltip player_id="934041" first="Lyman" last="Simmons"] who is a D1 caliber prospect will face off against another D1 prospect in Isaac Davis. Issac might be a little fast getting up and down the floor and might have Lyman on footwork and off the bounce ability. Lyman might have an inch or two on him and a reach advantage. Lyman is tough when he gets position. This will be an overall good matchup for both players as they look to get better before the July live period. [player_tooltip player_id="1384536" first="Owen" last="Mackay"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1132291" first="Bowen" last="Hammer"] will fill in that trio of player on Snow Canyon that can score and even carry the load. Hillcrest might have some trouble dealing with their length. Ike Sutton has been playing well in his new role at Hillcrest and a new comer in Titan Larsen is also a solid player making his way into more playing time.
